Final Fantasy XI: Vision Of Ziraat Details
Not so many of them, mind you, but worth seeing anyway.

January 07, 2003 - Square, by way of Impress Game Watch, today released a few new details regarding its planned expansion for Final Fantasy XI in Japan, entitled Vision of Ziraat. Intended to provide more "headroom" for high-level characters, the expansion will add new content to Square's online RPG in the following five key areas:

New areas and new monsters to inhabit them.
New secondary character classes/jobs.
More advanced missions and quests.
New items, particularly rarer and more powerful items.
Other new features of a nonspecific variety.

Some details have already been released regarding new areas and new jobs -- the Summoner class has been of particular interest, bringing with it as it does the series' famous summoned monsters -- but details remain unclear regarding how and when the expansion will be distributed. Its size, however, makes it very likely that it will be released as a DVD-ROM disc, since the added content is far too large to be offered for download as earlier updates to the game have been.
