Ok well I have noticed lately whem a ws I do gets skill chained off of by a gear swaper when the swap back the SC animation cancels and no SC damage is dealt at all. I haven't really tested it because I only swap rings right now which don't seem to cancel the animation. But when I was with a nin that swap a haubergeon on ws and then swap off the distortion didnt appear in the text and didn't do any extra damage. It happened twice in the same run but I didn't notice until the last kill of the party then I searched my chat log. This isn't normal right? I was going to send in a GM call but it was late so I am going to test it a little more when i get home.

The skillchain happens, the damage is dealt. It just doesn't show up.

So it doesn't show up any where but it is still done? I was under the impression that all damage unless filtered appeared in chat log.

No. The chat log is horribly stupid. Additional effects will also not show up in the chat log and disappear entirely even though they happen, if the person interrupts the animation with a gear swap.

If I remember correctly Magic Bursts will still happen but they won't be labeled with "Magic Burst!" in the log.

Also, if you make an attack with a weapon that proc'd its Additional Effect immediately after using your weapon skill, you'll see the weapon damage in the log, but not the Additional Effect. Like with Enspells - the Enspell damage would still be dealt, but wouldn't appear in the chat log (which is, indeed, horribly stupid for that).
