No, a simple fix would be to limit the amount of characters a trial account can make to three and limit gardening on new accounts to a single pot, 2 at most. It's because they can do it en mass that they're able to turn a profit from it. If these mule accounts could only grow a single plant per house at a time they wouldn't even bother anymore. Meanwhile a real player could learn how to garden, and after two weeks, could go into full swing and get as many pots as they wanted.

Instead of stopping these guys at the source, they nail them after they turn a profit. Unfortunately that could end up nailing everyone who gets a profit from that same source. And I know when I was a newbie I'd unload all my trash on ol' PB, hell I still do. Selling stuff to him shouldn't be the trigger for Autobanning, having 16 characters on a trial account full of flowerpots should.

Not for a second. The fact that Kaeko posted it and not just some random noob actually got it some attention, but it sounds like some BS after reading the thread. But, there are some random criteria SE is using for autobanning people, and it is catching a lot of legit players, more than it should. And worse, is when legit players get caught as "RMT," SE doesn't even give them the chance to appeal their ban. Which is bullshit, since bans are irreversible.

Well, it's either an elaborate prank that took hours of photoshopping which I doubt, or that's an actual SS of a GM conversation the guy had making this legit and knowing SE I can believe it.

Yeah, well let's put it this way.

If the "legit" players are to be believed, most of the ones I have heard about who got banned had their main account, possibly with full gardening mules, and a secondary account, also full of gardening mules. So that is what, 16-18 characters per account? We'll assume 16. So main + 31 gardening mules - secondary nongardening characters.

Now just look at that from SE's perspective, and look at all the RMT gardening mules.

Not saying it's right that supposed legit gardeners are getting banned. But I am pointing out that with that many mules I can see where it'd be easy to be assumed to being RMT.

Also a little self restraint may be in order. It may take longer to gain the same profit, but do you really need around 31 gardening mules?

I really just think SE should make an appeals process for people who believe they have been wrongfully banned. Instead of just, "NOPE SORRY LOL U BANNT 4EVAR LOLOLOLOL."
