Fyi, vacuum every day to get rid of food particles that the ants feed on. Also buy those little round ant traps that you poke holes in the sides. They are pet friendly and ants love them and they work! As for fruit flies, its usually an indication of something spoiling somewhere. Check behind stuff where maybe a piece of fruit could have fallen or maybe a peel from something could have fallen. Oh, or another place could be in the garbage can UNDER the garbage bag. Sometimes its even just the drain in the sink especially if there is a garbage disposal that might have food stuck in it.

It's pronounced FEE-BAH still, but there's no real way to know that. In fact, knowing the etymology would make you even more confused-- it was based on my real name, except pronounced different for no apparent reason, and I had my name changed (side note, new birth certificate just arrived, woo. I am a person again.). I have never been particularly anal about my internet names (Feba, Febab, Feban, Febar, Enotz, Taskmage, etc.) being pronounced correctly, especially when people are giving me shinies.
