Logged in yesterday for the first time in about a month and peeps in my ls were saying that they had gotten about 6 different tells from RMT to a rmt website to buy gil. So I stayed on for about 45 mins just chatting and then I get a tell from the guy lol. "1Mil for 33.25 with Unique Code!!!!!!!!" Can RMT be any less obvious?

/tell spam has been going on for at least the past few months. It's very irritating, but that's about it.

Yeah, I remember it happened a couple of months ago. Back then, so many people reported this one guy that the GMs cancelled all of the calls relating to that RMT and said it is being investigated.

SE, in their infinite wisdom, has decided to e-mail spam us all about that new mission thingy.

This is e-mail, not a POL message, so you have to exit to POL, and look for the "1" under an envelope icon.

And as for the /tell spam, I'm still baffled that the devs can't figure out how to put in some sort of alarm when a trial account starts sending out dozens of /tells, whether or not they contain the names of certain web sites. You just have it shut off /tell for that user, and have it log an automatic GM call. If they can only get 10-20 spams out per trial account, that makes it a lot more work than if you can get 100-500 spams out before being banninated.

I actually had one GM suggest using /blist when I reported one of these clowns. {/facepalm} Yeah, how exactly is /blist going to work when I can pretty much expect to never see anything from the same account ever again?

I always talk back to the RMT who send me advertisements for their site. So far I've only gotten a couple of responses. D:

That is all a GM can do, anything else is handled higher then they are. Report to the STF, not a GM.

Wow, that sounds like a pure nightmare. ;; I hate that people do this and that SE doesn't really do much about it. Also, if they hack you, can they get your CC #? I use one that ahs a low limit so I'm not too worried about them building up a huge charge but they could ahve my identity.

I think only the last 4 digits can be seen. Even if they could do it, why would they want credit card numbers so that they could eventually get caught using those. They'd just rather hack your account, steal your character's gear, sell it, and then be done with it.

SE's database would have to be hacked in order for them to get your full cc info.

I just wish that SE would get those security tokens in the damn mail already!
