Long story short, my dad took some savings bonds to the credit union to cash them, and the lady miscalculated what they were worth and gave us about 2-300 over. My dad asked if that was the correct amount and she assured us that it was. Few days later they put his account on hold for that $300 and some rude attendant called and said "You took our money!" like we had robbed them or something lol. He went back up there 2-3 times and found out the manager was the one that called. When my dad asked to speak to her supervisor she said that there was nobody above her. Eventually he was issued a written letter of apology for the whole ordeal from the company president (Apparently there was somebody above her.). He really didn't want that though, he wanted a spoken and written apology from the managing clerk that spoke to him harshly.

I work in tech support at a callcenter. You have to realize that if a callcenter agent is pressured that does not mean you get to talk to a supervisor, all you get is them asking a friend they work with or the person who trained them if available to pretend they are the supervisor in order to make the caller feel like they are getting what they want and back off. We do it when needed all the time.

The sad truth is, in the callcenter world, there isn't really anything a supervisor could do for you that one of the agents couldn't. Usually the callcenter is contracted by the company in question to take calls.

You know what, I started to mention earlier that it was possibly somebody pretending....Which would not surprise me at all because of SE's phenomenal tech support. Don't tell anybody else that, and at least you don't tell anyone "I AM THE SUPERVISOR!"

I got that when we beat Dynamis Tav like 3 days before I couldn't access my character. So ya.....all these years waiting on my Chapeau....watching people get it and quit playing FFXI or quit playing rdm....passing on lotting so others could have it....finally got down to nearly everyone having one so I figured I'd finally take it...........

AND NOW FUCKING THIS!!

Honestly....if I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all....

If it makes you feel any better I'd probably never spend points on it and would only get it if it was FFA (no end game activities for me except for Dynamis and I only get resisted Sleep from Demons in Xarcabard so I have no use for it.)

Latest update while I'm here is NO UPDATE. Still the same shit is given to me whenever I call. I've written 2 emails and gotten no response (of course). I am going to write a registered letter soon and see what happens. Good lord just rollback my frickin character! I'll probably lose my Duelist's Chapeau but at this point I DON'T CARE ANYMORE!

Because playonline will start doing dumb shit like they did to a friend of mine after he had his account stolen...He called pol and they claimed that his account was stolen, changed servers, and sold on ebay. He called back a few days later and they told him the same thing and there was nothing they could do about it. He called back a few days after that and they said "Oh yeah, no problem." /rollback.exe I was like dude wtf.

After doing a google search for "character data may be damaged", this is pretty much the only thread in existance on any forum anywhere, so I just wanted to add in that I'm going through pretty much the exact same thing as the OP with my character.

Got stuck between zones, then it timed me out to the character select screen and whenever I try to log back in, I get "FFXI-3202 - Your character data may be damaged."

I've been out of the game for almost 2 weeks now, and when I contacted them today I specifically asked them if rolling back my character to the previous server restore point was possible. The response I got word-for-word was:

"That's basically what it is. It is a rollback to a previous one that worked before this error occurred. But since that's an entirely different department, we have to send a request to them to get this issued looked at."

Not 100% sure what that means, but that's what the guy had to say.
