PC or 360?

I got an Nvidia 8600 and I got a Xbox 360, now I only have 360 discs but I was thinking of buying a 360 VGA A/V Cable to connect the 360 to my LCD and just use my other flat screen monitor for my actual PC. Sounds sort of silly but at the same time fun although I'm really a graphics person and I'm wondering how good the 360 will look on an LCD and can it compare to playing FFXI on PC with an 8600.

Re: PC or 360?

The game is 8 years old. You could drop 3 grand on an AlienWare and still see the game the same as I do. Just play it on your 360 if you already have the shit for it. FFXI is not graphically intensive and it never will be. Enjoy the game and learn to live with the ancient graphics we have.

Re: PC or 360?

Well just a heads up the 360 version does have some slight slow downs, all of a sudden everything is slower for like a second. Its pretty weird and I know its not my internet because I just got the collection for PC and I've been playing without any of these slow downs or any lag.

So just a heads up I guess I'm answering my own question now, but PC is slightly better.

The PC version is better if not for Windower alone.

Re: PC or 360?

I am console biased?! I play on 360 with the WotG disc DL'd onto my HD. I play on a 40" HDTV that renders this game in 1080i. This game actually look decent, if your playing with a compairable setup. Light years away from WoW. I will say the only draw back is I dont play in Besiged because of the high lag rate will make your XB freeze. also high frame rate and opeinging the XB friends list will crash the XB also. But that could be because I am running my Game from HD and not Disk, who knows.

My PC is hooked up to an HDTV as well, what's your point? PC version is better.

Re: PC or 360?

PC is probably overall better if you use windower and don't like the X-Box freeze in Beseiged. That said, I still play primarily on my X-Box cause I like the controller and I like to lay on the couch unfettered by cords when I play. Graphically they're pretty similar.

... I too play via 360. Some steps I've taken that makes it so I do not d/c in Besieged ~

A - Shut down the Xbox... let it rest and get psyched up a bit. Pet it lovingly in this stage and whisper sweet nothings into its vents.

B - Turn off all other un-necessary power strains (lights, phone-charger, laptop, vaporizer, etc). I've noticed when a heater flickers on/off, the "surge" or w/e can d/c me. Damn you refrigerator ... if u didn't have parishables....

C - I've filtered out lots of the graphical effects and other's in-game messages. I'd rather see the gaining of xp/sanction/limit pts at the end of battle than all the random breath effects during the fray.

D - Take off LS pearl feed. Sanction is more important than getting "into it" over the validity of melee mages or w/e else they may spam your screen with.

I used to d/c all the time in Besieged; but if I do those steps, I last the whole time. Still can't see what most people are doing so it's still kinda like playing with the a blaster shield up and using the "force" to feel which mobs to fight. Kinda funny when you're Charmed and you just start seeing your char killing invisible people (by the way, I'm sorry... the purdy Snake-Lady told me to do it)

*E - If its a double Besieged... go to MH in between, "shut down", and rest the xbox again. "Coo" to it softly and tell it how big and strong it is while its resting for this brief interlude.

I finally found a copy of the PC verion, so I just need to work up the courage for the EPIC downloading I'll need to do to get it going... curious to see what FFxi looks like on my laptop. Then I'll endup linkin it up to my big screen anyway tho...
