yeah when i try to pay my over due monthly fee the game wont accept ANY debit card I give it [all of them have enough money on them] I called customer support they said the server is probably busy and try again once every 30 minutes.. I did that from 8pm-12:30am and didnt get nothing different..

anyone know what the problem with this is?

call your bank. ask them if there has been any charges that were declined or didn't go through. I often have this problem when changing credit card payments or insufficient funds--also you can't just keep trying the same card. from my experiences it's more than just 30 minutes before you can re-enter the same card. because I have multiple accounts I usually have to wait an hour or two before I can input the same card in.

I called my bank this morning and she was on the phone with me while I did it and she said theres nothing coming through from their side or anything.. and I tried every 30-45mins all through the night

Someone else said that it might be because its the beginning of the month and accounts are being charged so it's like impossible to change info, or update billing info. is this true?? and is there anyway I can call POL and they enter the information for me?

that's usually the day before and the day after the last day of the month. its the 14th now so that can't be it. yeah they must not be accepting your CC or you're inputing your credit card wrong. remember if it's visa you have to select visa, or discover, etc. maybe you're confusing some info from your old card. or maybe your address on file doesn't match the one you're putting in.

I dont get any options to select card type.. I'm launching the viewer from my xbox, so idk if it is any different from PC or not but its just asking me for the number, security code, and billing address.. and everything is correct because my bank confirmed it when I told them

I was thinking about downloading the free trial version of the game, then launch POL and log in as guest and re-activate my account.. would that make any difference?

I am having this same issue, except...The issue spans four different credit cards, belonging to myself, my wife, my mother in law, and my mother...None of the cards are accepted. Ever. To make matters a bit more interesting, I logged onto the website for my credit card, and quite litterally copied and pasted the address information from there, to the playonline registration thing. Still gives me the same nonsense. I'm pretty frusterated right about now.

wtf idk whats going on because my cousin was havin this same problem.. and his just worked all of a sudden.. i keep asking him like HOW? HOW? and hes saying all he did was keep trying every hour or so and it randomly worked.. If this is true, I hate this game... this is the only game I thought there was nothing wrong with like every other MMO out there today.. but I see now Customer service sucks...

Ahh. I dunno. See me I'm the more stubborn sort. I've played this, played WoW, played several other MMO's...came to the opinion that MMO's were horrid awful rancid creations that were the shame of the gaming industry. But I slowly came around to liking FFXI. Little more than a year ago my previous account was cancled, lost my stuff. I'm frankly just happy to have a chance to play again, and if I've a few minor issues between now and game time, yeah its a hassle. But at least this isn't WoW, with fifteen billion four year olds running around acting like cartman. Its perfectly excusable for there to be some form of issues. Ima just keep waiting like I have been, entering my credit card numbers, till one of them works. At which point, I am going to walk outside to a dark corner of my yard where no one can see me, and dance a jig while singing "Its a miracle"

The same thing is going on with registering, it won't accept any of my cards.

I played this game years ago and had similar issues with registering and changing cards. It is the server, they probably won't have it working until Monday if memory serves. Pretty much if your trying anything outside of their office hours, its not going to work lol.

The first time I tired it was Friday 8:55pm EST [5mins before they close PST] and it failed, then I called them and got through right before they closed.. so the chances are better of it working during the times they are open??

I suppose it could be worse. I was able to just a bit ago, get a trial account to work. So, yeah, its not what I paid for, sure, I have issues...But on the up side...I can start playing nontheless.

=o! It worked. When I downloaded the free trial version, I input my information as exisiting POL member, then when I paid my over due fee it went through first time!!

Im finally back.. Watch out theres another MID-LEVEL noob on the loose killing chocobos trying to learn how to raise them!

this is funny, I was able to sign up for the free trial(which i can upgrade later), so I could get the patches. Playing for free was easier to register then paying for the game.

Got on today, and tried the same tried out credit card I've used the most, my own, and much to my shock...it worked. I hope it works for the rest of you as well, this has certainly been somewhat...odd. To be able to register to play free, but to be unable to register to PAY THEM to play, its somewhat...unusual.
