>_> now I'm going thru the same thing as kieko.. I deleted my Character in April, the 6th to be exact.. Due to some LS drama I said F It.. and stayed away from MMOs for awhile. I had my good friend come over with his laptop and he was playing FFXI about 2 months ago and that kinda re-awakened my FFXI crave -_- man the withdrawals hit me hard.
SOoooo anyways getting my account back up took like 2 weeks due to me not remembering my password.. and couldn't find the correct credit card I had on my acc.. I've started my 1st character restore on Aug 15.. and the 1st reply came back about sept 10th or so.. and it was a fail though that was because I had given them the wrong Date of Deletion >_> whoopsie me... :/
The second request was sent on the next day since it was a sunday I had recieved the email.. and a requested another attempt, this time with the right date of deletion. 2 weeks later, I was happy to see an e mail, but very scared at the same time lol... but inside the e mail was another failed response ._.
I have told myself i'd give it one more try for the character restore, because I've heard some stories about people being persistant and it worked for them hehe.
At the end though :/ it was my own dumb fault for deleting my character out of anger and for that I pay the price -_- I'm just really hoping they try and find it because it should still be there.. Really thinking about it... Too much time spent on my character, and I'm seriously thinking of starting all over.. but at the same time it's like... no... :/ well I probably took up more time then I should have haha forgive me. I don't really have much people to talk to now days, most of my friends plays ffxi and I hardly see them anymore^^

sorry I'm 3 months late to reply. No they failed 3x for me sadly, so I stopped trying in november. I recently found out about the return to vana'diel campaign that's happening since dec. I will try again with that and just hope luck is on my side this time around. =/

Id never delete my char, even if I RARELY played, Id still keep paying to keep it active, its worth avoiding the headache that is to recover it IMO

its not a headache to recover, if you suspend it the right way.

Just deactivate the ID's. Despite what the thing says about SE purging them after certain amounts of time, I have never had any of mine get deleted in my 6+ month spans of absences. (Multiple ones.) And the character my brother created in 05 or so is still there and has been inactive for 4 years now.

Just deactivate them. There's really no need for the deletion. Seriously.
