Relic get a boost in power? - Order of the Blue Gartr

Un-fucking-believable. Dear lord PLEASE don't let this be a mistake!!!!

This makes me want to get Aegis or Yoichi/Annihilator.... NAO!!!!!

One guy says he's getting 80-90% Recycle Rate on Yoichi...

If this is SE's idea of balancing out the power of relics vs mythics.... ME LIKEY BREADSTICKS!

I read the thread, some people think the recycle thing bleeds to anyone with Recycle... it has the smell of broken

If it is just Relics that do the recycle thing, the weapons will pay themselves back by ammo savings rather quickly...

Uh, you mean the weapons that cost 100 million gil? That's a lot of ammo...

What are we supposed to be looking at in the original screenshot? Is the additional effect normally 300 or something? Or are we just supposed to jump to the conclusion that the guy isn't wearing shadow mantle and therefore blocked 100% of the physical damage?

I only posted 1 of his screens, but the others all showed him taking single-digit damage on shield blocks from various Dynamis mobs.

One guy took 8 dmg from AV... Relics are PWN (assuming today's maint doesn't undo this)

Yea, except if you read the thread, it's not the relics. All shields have had increase efficiancy in blocked Dmg. And the 80-90% recycle rate that Rngs were commenting on were procing without relics and lvl 1 recycle merits.

This is a bug, and a side effect to something.

It wasn't mentioned in the maintenance announcement, but the update announcement following maintenance mentions that they patched the behavior of Recycle.

Recycle is fixed, but there's no mention of shield changes. Arguably another round of shield buffs is reasonable (except maybe for aegis which was pretty sick already), considering just about everyone is still "NIN or /NIN or GTFO".

Outside of Plds, who use shields regardless of sub, who else really needs them?

No one needs them but it helps. Just like no one needs shadows but they help.

A shield boost would benefit soloing RDMs and WHMs directly, THF and WAR too depending on the sub (could be /DNC.)
