Question Mog Storage Access From Where?

Hello guys.

Having just spent a miserable 20 mins (or maybe 25) looking around this site for the info I'm looking for, and not being able to find it, I feel the need to try and get my answer by posting directly instead!

I'm not sure if what I'm about to ask is correct or not, since I couldn't find my answer by searching around for it.

Anyway... I was reading over one of the updates a while back, and please tell me if I have remembered correctly or not that at some point, everyone will be allowed to access their mog storage, (thats the one where we build up on storage space by buying numerous furniture items to place in our mog houses) not only from their home nation, (in my case sandy) but in all the other main cities too. (well at best I think I can just remember sandy, Bastok and windurst being an addition, but I'm not sure about Jeuno, and Whitegate)

Am I correct or not, because if yes, then I thought this addition was going to be in the update we just had about a couple of days ago, and I after I updated, I logged in, and went over to Windurst expecting to gain access to my " mog storage," and soon found it wasn't to be. *sigh!*

Is this just for a later update instead, or did I just completely get the wrong idea
and have remembered incorrectly?

Re: Mog Storage Access From Where?

It was the "Mog Locker" that we gained access to in all nations. Storage is still only in your home nation. It would be nice to be able to access it from anywhere, but truthfully it makes sense that you can't. Your furnishings are in your official Mog House therefore anything you store there would stay there... That's my thoughts on it anyhow. ^^

This always annoyed the hell out of me. If I can actually watch my Moogle cast Warp on himself to go water/harvest my plants, he can grab my Balance Rings out of the Cabinet while he's there damn it.

No kidding. I mean, I put all of my furniture in my Mog Safe so that I can use Storage... And, in a rent-a-room, I have access to my Mog Safe... So, why don't I have access to all of the items in my Mog Safe (which includes items which are stored in my furniture, ie Storage)?

Stupid, lazy moogles ><

Not only can he warp himself from Jeuno or Whitegate, he can go forwards in time to do it from past mog houses. All that and you can't grab something out of storage? Ridiculous.

Ahh... riigghht. The Mog locker. Yes... that was it!
It's no wonder I used the "search function" to search the forums on "Mog storage!" and coming up with anything but the answer I was searching for!
Sometimes it proves more useful to actually go ahead and ask, instead of searching around in this way. Thanks for putting me straight.

I searched the FFXl Wiki site on the Mog Locker, Click Here! and I feel I'm not too happy with how it all works out.

It says that if you decide to keep your Mog Locker of use in Al Zahbi, then the lease is 7 days, (that's a whole week, basically) but if you decide to open it in all other Mog Houses across Vana 'diel too, then the lease is only 5 days.

COME ON SE! Where's the fairness in that!! I certainly don't see any!

It seems that SE are trying to encourage its players to still keep their Mog Lockers for use in Al Zahbi in this way! It's a dumb stupid idea if you ask me!

Anyhow, I can understand what you originally said about furniture staying in your official Mog House, which is why it cannot go anywhere. But still.... I think it would be a nice idea to be able to open our storage in other parts of Vana 'diel too.
Ahh well.... I guess I'll just have to keep dreaming then! *sigh!*

To keep the lease going after the first period, you have to pay 1 Imperial Bronze piece, and keep repeating that at the end of every period if you want to keep the lease going. It seems ridiculous to me! I've read that you can buy the imperial pieces on the AH, (that, or get them as reward for doing certain quests) but I hope they are not expensive to buy there, as I haven't checked yet.

I have worked out that for me personally, I don't think it would be a good idea to open a Mog Locker "at all" in the end, because I haven't been spending as much time playing FFXl as I used to, since I had bought Lord Of The Rings Online, and have spent more time playing that these days. And it would be difficult to come back to FFXl after a while, finding half of my equipment, armour and weapons e.t.c that have disappeared and me getting worried about where they have all gone to, because I have forgotten about the Mog Locker across Vana 'diel option due to spending a lot of time playing L.O.T.R.O.

So I don't think I'll be opening a Mog Locker then.

I'm not going to drop FFXl altogether though. I still love the game, and can still find time to play every so often.

It "is" a bit of a worry that you cannot grab anything from storage, apart from in your home city, but I guess we'll just get used to it.

I completely forgot about the past cities, that I couldn't remember if there were mog houses in them or not. It's been a while since the last city in the past that I visited was Bastok[s]. So thanks for the heads up on that.

Technically, you don't have access to all of the items in your Mog Safe, unless you know of a way to remove furnishings from your Mog Safe while they're still decorating your Mog House elsewhere.

But there's the problem. I put my furnishings in my mog safe. Whenever I look at my mog safe, I see my furnishings. It seems silly that we have to put our furnishings in our mog safe in the first place (which the moogles carry around for us), don't you agree?

Re: Mog Storage Access From Where?

Well, they have to be put *somewhere*, and it sure as hell isn't going to be my inventory. And Mog Locker doesn't count, since it wasn't around back then. It's like equipped armor. Yes, it's in my inventory, but technically, it's not, it's on me. It's not silly to have to put the furniture in the Mog Safe, it's silly that you can't access storage from any residential area though.
