My GF pays for her own live account and we both play halo 3 a lot, anyways we want to get into a RPG we can do this and a MMO would be awsome. any chance its possible in this game?

You each need a place to login/play from.
Game is cross platform, so that makes it a little easier.

You could also do a PS3+TV; if you're going to be spending the money anyway you might as well open up your console options some. The cheapest option would be a PC, though, you could get a PC that's good enough for FFXI under $400.

Besides, though, even if it was TECHNICALLY possible, you wouldn't want to play FFXI split screen, it would just be an awful experience.

lol nah i doubt it, i got a 42 inch plasma so its not like it would be tiny, halo 3 is great so im sure a rpg would be ok.

im not gonna get the game, i would if you could do split but since i can't i'll wait for another game.

And it doesn't sound like you'd enjoy FFXI anyway. It's an MMORPG rather than an RPG. Totally different animals.

I don't care how big your screen is, unless it's from a future where we use 2000p+ TVs, it would be cramped.

And while I can't say you wouldn't enjoy FFXI, you definitely have some very large misunderstandings about what it is. You should do some more research before you consider buying something.

well i played everquest non stop for 3 years so i have a good idea about mmorpgs, anyways like i said i was just looking for a split screen game thats a rpg my GF and i could play i would prefer a MMO but i guess i can't yet until one comes out.

i know EQ would work well split screen not sure why this would be much difference but no biggie

Yeah. When you go into one thing expecting it to be like another, you're setting yourself up for disappointment. When you go into FFXI expecting it to be like anything else, you're screwed.

Well there is no way for the average consumer to play FFXI split screen. There are very expensive converters that you can purchase but for the same price you could probably buy a nice tv and a 360 for in the bedroom and save some money. LOL If you would get a converter, you'd have to buy another 360 and another account also, as mentioned.

As far as how it would look, it probably would look fine. It would basically be like playing FFXI on a 21" HDTV via the 360. Personally, I play on a 26" LCD HDTV via my computer and I wouldn't go smaller if you paid me.

You're forgetting that split screen ruins your resolution, TGM, and that FFXI's UI gets very cramped quickly.

Well since I've never done this, and I won't be considering the price of converters lol, I would think you set the 360's settings to 4:3 and all is well with the world.

There's one....I'm particularly fond of the 3 monitor setup. I would love to have it set up to look like a painting or window and have it constantly flowing and changing throughout the day. That would be so beautiful.
