What food would be good to use for a 20-25 dancer in qufim? People aren't using sushi yet are they? Is sushi post 20 always the best option? I'm just thinking the +25% acc or whatever might not be as much as a jack-o, +10 acc, at that level. Plus it sucks using sushi then killed by a ghost/bogy pop... I'd say mid 40s is really where you start with sushi.
You can grab Jack-o-Lanterns for +10 Accuracy and +10 Evasion, but its at the cost of -10 CHR, but CHR - as with most jobs CHR applies to - isn't really a big deal. You'll lose a few points off your cures for using it, but thats all.
Jack'Os are a three hour food, and one Jack'O is about the same price as a sushi on most servers. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 04-03-2008, 03:17 PM | #3 (permalink) | | ~forevernewb~ Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: UK, Notts. But I'm gonna take a back-up stack of rice dumplings with me also just in case. It may be that you find yourself in a party where you're taking on crabbies a level or so too early. If you're not missing, you're hitting for zero. *cry* At levelling stages like that, I'm thinking that half an hour of extra attack to see you through your TNL might be preferable to the acc bonus. Maybe just bring along a few Meat Jerkys?
Dumplings are pretty expensive now, sadly. I'd love to use them full time but I can't justify the expense. Pumpkins look fine.
Anyway, hopefully you party with an Acid-Bolt spamming THF though^^ Oh, Warp. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways... | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 04-03-2008, 03:30 PM | #4 (permalink) | | Pink Mage Brain of Knowledge Join Date: May 2006 Location: Bastok/Illinois Posts: 1,533 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 132 Thanked 165x in 107 Posts Gil: 4,747 Bank: 40,866 Total Gil: 45,613 Donate | Re: Food for a Qufim? I will say it depends on your weapon. If you're doing H2H do Jack-o'-Lantern. If you're doing Dagger, go with Rice Dumplings. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 04-03-2008, 03:59 PM | #5 (permalink) | | Heir to Odin Oracle of Knowledge Join Date: May 2006 Location: None of your damn business Posts: 3,186 Style: Light - Version 5 My Mood: Thanks: 621 Thanked 291x in 196 Posts Gil: 62,899 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 62,899 Donate | Re: Food for a Qufim? I wouldn't recommend Jacks. Yah the +10 accuracy is nice, but DNC does need some CHR for Waltzes and the jack hits you with a rather nasty -10 CHR penalty.
Personally, I'd use Roast Mutton. It lasts 3 hours and gives you a hefty +27% attack boost. That ought to punch through the def of crabs and pugs and other nasties. You can also try subbing RNG for the +10 accuracy bonus, though I highly recommend /DRG for the attack up (to further take advantage of the food) and Jump. True, jump is better used on high delay weapons but a free hit is a free hit >. > (beats the hell out of WAR's +10 def) Last edited by Malacite : 04-03-2008 at 04:04 PM. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 04-03-2008, 04:10 PM | #6 (permalink) | | X's General FFXIWiki Team Join Date: Aug 2003 Location: Puerto Rico Posts: 2,619 Style: Light - Version 6 My Mood: Thanks: 172 Thanked 638x in 341 Posts Gil: 34,958 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 34,958 Donate | Re: Food for a Qufim? -10 CHR shouldn't be a big deal since it's only -2 HP from your Cures.
Personally I'd say Rice Dumplings are probably the best choice if your damage matters. If you only care about Accuracy then the pumpkins will do for now, but Sushi will be beating their accuracy by 30 if I'm not mistaken. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 04-03-2008, 04:34 PM | #7 (permalink) | | J...atatouille Super Moderator Join Date: Dec 2002 Posts: 8,337 Style: Light - Version 5 My Mood: Thanks: 5 Thanked 136x in 106 Posts Gil: 21,086 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 21,086 Donate | Re: Food for a Qufim? Well let's compare;
The mutton wins out for raw attack power (and lasts longer) but the dumplings can be nice too since they give a lot of effects. I still wouldn't touch the Jacks unless you're soloing since that -10 CHR will knock off 5~10 from your Waltzes (I'm assuming anyway, since I've found that adding 1~2 CHR [depending on the level of the waltz I believe] will give 1 more HP cured) which is not a good enough trade off to gain some evasion and a 5% increase to hit rate. Tuna sushi will serve you better since it boosts accuracy and CHR, though if for whatever reason you are tanking (DNC can do this quite well actually from 15-30) then yes, the accuracy and evasion boosts will outweigh the loss on the waltzes) | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 04-03-2008, 05:38 PM | #9 (permalink) | | X's General FFXIWiki Team Join Date: Aug 2003 Location: Puerto Rico Posts: 2,619 Style: Light - Version 6 My Mood: Thanks: 172 Thanked 638x in 341 Posts Gil: 34,958 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 34,958 Donate | Re: Food for a Qufim? Like I said, the -10 CHR will only detract 2 or 3 HP from your Waltzes. It's pretty negligible. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | All times are GMT -8.
