Old Wive's Tales/Rumors in FFXI

Ok I read another thread that made me think of all the old wive's tales/rumors about game dynamics that I've heard mentioned in FFXI. So I thought I'd ask all of you about things that you've heard. Here are a couple that I have heard...

As a tank, if you keep moving while tanking, the mob will miss you more! (Oh, those crazy dune's days! LOL )

If you have an alliance with a blm party, put a thf in it and you'll get better drops.

When I first started playing, a lot of people told me that if you had the higher ground against a mob, you'd have better accuracy/do more damage. This was pre-Episode III, so I don't know where it came from.

I remember giving that a try when I first started to play the game. I think it took all of about 2 days for me to disprove that to myself. ...I also got lost in Sandy...which is why it took 2 days. >.>

Wow never heard of that one. I should have been banned A LOT! lol We used to get on a low level character and take poison pots and make piles of people all over Jeuno.

I was told that as well - and honestly at low levels against Rarabs it seemed like it was true - later it seemed not....

-Sneak lasts longer if you take your armor off. (I seriously think this guy just wanted to see my Mithra without clothes)
-Wind Staff increases movement speed (read that one on here)
-Killing a mob with EES increases drops

I'm sure it did. But it hasn't been the case in any other video game that I know of (maybe RTS games?) so I don't see why some yahoo would think it suddenly was the case.

And yes, that is one of the many reasons we hate Aka.
