I think the whole discussion about SE's skill has to stop. If they wanted to, they could put a full relic alliance there in the video, and all of us would say "Yea it's because of the gears."
I really doubt they spend a lot of hours thinking through how to make the video look good so they don't look less skilled... Doesn't it sound much more logical that they just put a bunch of players there, fought Absolute Virtue several times and editted the things they wanted to show in one long video.
It's very unlikely that they cared whether players would think that SE is skilled, that they beat it in one run, or all other questions about this video that make no sense and are completely useless regarding killing this Notorious Monster.
We don't have to find flaws in this video, we're supposed to find hints. x.x

It's not so much accusations of S-E being unskilled at their own game rather than denouncements that they are Absolutely flawless at it: no accounting for human error, in any case.

I never accused them of trying to making themselves look good: for one thing, they have no motive, and for another, they had a Red Mage with a Staff on their team.(Swinging, too, might I add.)
Basically, what you said is what I was trying to convey from the get-go: they fought AV several times and got the best highlights from each, and certainly defeated him by methods capable by the average player at least once.

That red mage was using a staff for a very good reason. It's undoubtedly an Earth Staff or Terra Staff, and it's being used for its guaranteed 20% physical damage reduction. It would not surprise me if that RDM was using other non-visible damage reduction gears like Cheviot Cape and perhaps some judicious Darksteel +1.
If you've never fought Absolute Virtue before, you have no idea just how strong he really is. His melee hits are insanely strong, absurdly fast, and he cast basically instant cast Aeroga IV or Tornado II any time he pleases. Anything that gives you a fighting chance to defend against that combination would be desirable.
