The video either a)Is simply showing it CAN be beaten, and it's not just all luck, or b)There's some kind of message or hint that they're trying to relay to us without actually coming out and saying "Do this and win."
What they are trying to say I haven't the slightest but that's not really something that concerns me too much. I don't do Sea, and I'm confident people will start trying all sorts of new ideas and strategies to kick his ayazz within due time. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | The following user says "Thank You" to Ameroth for above post: | | | 02-13-2008, 09:33 AM | #32 (permalink) | | FFXIWiki Team Join Date: May 2006 Location: Windurst Posts: 4,258 Style: Light - Version 6 My Mood: Thanks: 141 Thanked 1,119x in 624 Posts Gil: 11,034 Bank: 6 Total Gil: 11,039 Donate | Re: The long awaited AV video from S-E If SE showed you EXACTLY how to beat AV, I would be incredibly disappointed in them for doing so. Quite frankly, I'd like to see a player figure it out so we can all just go lolWallofJustice. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to Omgwtfbbqkitten For This Useful Post: | | | 02-13-2008, 09:35 AM | #33 (permalink) | | Pointy Stick Brain of Knowledge Join Date: Apr 2004 Location: Portland, OR Posts: 1,887 Style: Dark - Version 5 My Mood: Thanks: 416 Thanked 327x in 201 Posts Gil: 7,886 Bank: 31,881 Total Gil: 39,767 Donate | Re: The long awaited AV video from S-E I think they're only giving hints because SE can't do a panel or interview without everyone QQing about how AV is unbeatable.

from what I gather it developed from qqirn npcs in game and the fact that most of them can't go for 5 lines of dialogue without crying about something.

It's so effing stupid. It's essentially turning a really crude smiley into a verb. They're supposed to be big, round eyes with tears running down. Just imagine that one day I decide to start saying 8Ding instead of smiling, and then everyone in every server of FFXI starts using that as slang.
I'm pretty sure it doesn't come from Qiqirn NPCs; It originated from, or was popularized by WoW. I know, because a good number of my real-life friends play it, and I've heard them actually pronounce "cue cue" while talking about the game a couple of times. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 02-13-2008, 10:49 AM | #40 (permalink) | | Pointy Stick Brain of Knowledge Join Date: Apr 2004 Location: Portland, OR Posts: 1,887 Style: Dark - Version 5 My Mood: Thanks: 416 Thanked 327x in 201 Posts Gil: 7,886 Bank: 31,881 Total Gil: 39,767 Donate | Re: The long awaited AV video from S-E Originally Posted by Omniblast | The video also shows another thing...

*runs and hides away* | The RDMs are tanking. It's pretty common to use RDM tanks on JoL so I'm not surprised they'd use them on AV. Originally Posted by Armando | Tangent: I hate the term "QQ." And it also shows that they can take him down with a single alliance, despite the extra cameras running around, which is more that can be said about current methods being used. What ever the technique was that they showed us, it was certainly a potent one. While there are some hints how to beat it now, still the mud hasn't been diluted too much until players actually go out and test it. But its nice to see a trend of them dropping hints on hard things (the whole /heal while Odin readies and uses Zantetsuken turns the KO effect into a 600-700 damage attack;.gif ~halfway down showing it working). Makes you wonder if they will release more hints if players are completely baffled on how to beat hard stuffs.
