It would be off topic for me to discuss such things.

But since you're obviously interested in the topic and not at all being facetious, you can learn all about it in the thread he made about it.

I'd be glad to help in whatever way possible. Mostly, that means the stuff I do on Wikipedia, which is mostly fixing spelling errors and vandalism.

I don't think this particular Wiki will have many problems with either, but know that I'm always happy to volunteer when I can.

Also: why do we even have an FFXIO Wiki when there's FFXIclopedia (among others)? It just seems . . . kind of vain. No offense to those involved, of course.

Note that if you click Discussion, you get a link to a forum thread. The idea (in my head, at least) is that on any topic, there would be a large emphasis to its linked thread for anyone wishing to build on the idea. This, instead of the clumsy "talk" section of traditional wikis that no one wants to navigate... if it could catch on as a means of browsing for the threads you're after by wiki'ing similar contents... great things could come. Or, you know, nothing will happen and this will become a wiki clone.

That is basically the thing me and ping are working on, mainly just a wiki of ffxio and oldsite, with a database.

I'm a plot specialist personally, but I'm also experienced in areas (zones, that is), some minor quirks in the game here and there, Summoner, and some minor bits on Dragoon and Corsair.

Well seeing as this is more of an expansion on the existing guides and such on the DiV forums, I don't really see us biting off more than we can chew.

Wiki can be renamed to "Organized Posts" if needed be, just named it wiki because mediawiki is what we'll be using to organize it.

Basically, think of all the stickies unstuck, and properly organized. So if needed be people can search all the important stickies outside the forums. All the wiki items will be linked back to the unstuck stickies, if further discussion is necessary.

I'll make sure it's done right and would end up being more convinient for users and importantly of cleanliness and presentation on how it's integrated.

One thing I really wanted to do long ago was to organize the stickies and information that's already in forums for more easier searching and preventing it from going down into the void (locked archives).


Just thought it'd be a good chance since this is an update of site for 6th time now.
