I just thought about this because I was reading pixie mobs on ffxi wiki, and pixies cast cure and raise, the people playing it would seem kinda like a pixie too, because when you're fighting or healing, you see high level people running and they stop to heal / cast protect/shell and raising you when u die lol.

I just thought about it and maybe you guys might like it.

but do you think that some people would act like pixies? (the healing and raising and stuff)

I do because sometimes when I'm fighting mobs, people see you and just come and cure you and cast protect on you.

I think we call this "Posting for the sake of posting." Pixies are programmed to be nice, players generally either are or are not nice people. The people that run by you and Cure/Protect you are simply being polite, they're not being pixies.

That said, it would help a great deal they would be just as polite in Campaign instead of leaving you for dead and killing the pixies like a bunch of morons.

Do pixies drop something valuable or useful such as pixie dust? Can you make their wings into fletchings for godly arrows? Can their blood be drained and used to make terrible accursed gear that's literally overflowing with eldritch power? Is their skin useful for making armor?

FFXI players have been tossing out random cures, buffs, and raises for over five years. Pixies have been doing it for less than a month. I think you've got it a little backward.

I suspect the general reluctance to raise people in campaign probably stems somewhat from Besieged, where raising is valuable to people who are actively participating, but so many people just wander afk and die and cause passersby who raise them to waste 150MP and the recast. I used to spam raises on my WHM in Besieged, now I raise fairly sparingly, often only raising fallen party members, because there's little more frustrating to a WHM who's already struggling to stay alive and keep MP up than to blow three raises in a row to people who already had raise cast on them...
