new leveling areas!!

Has anyone else even checked out the new areas in the past?? I swear I barely saw anyone on except if they were running everywhere to get maws and map quests and job quests done.
Anyway... since i can't really find anything on the internet about monster levels in the new areas, i thought i might start this thread for people to post what they think might be good leveling locations.
I for on was on that Van.. Val.. something or other Inlet that's between Jugner and Ronfaure in the past. There seemed to be a lot of different kinds of monsters! As in robber crabs! I swear there was this whole wide open area where you could just pull robber crabs from a safe distance and even pugs too which were a few levels higher!
In that same area i saw really high level treants, and even really powerful orcs that could aggro lvl 75s!
I haven't had a chance to explore many of the other areas yet... but has anyone scouted anything interesting?
If so, please say so here! Oh, and that robber crab place looks like a nice solo spot for bsts around lvl 63-65... Just remember to bring sneak with you >.>

have you thought about trading in some old games at a game stop or gamming store in your area??

Thats what i did...derail a sec...speaking of trading in games. I traded in a few games and I got $18.98 for Two Worlds...really crappy RPG game for 360 and i got $19.98 for my PS2 copy of GH2 w/o the guitar!! Thats funny because i'd think since GH3 is out it'd go down in value...

Re: new leveling areas!!

It's not because of money, Hell i paid 2x the cost to ship the damn thing from the US, but my preorder was turned nito a back order by the company.

I paid a friend for his copu in the US (he had it shipped to someone else not sure why) buit he ended up buying it before he could be give the code. I'm buying that off him and getting the code. All very complicated, but atleast i don't have to wait god knows how long for shipping, it should arrive today or tomorrow, sent by UPS.

Re: new leveling areas!!

I am actually very interested in finding out what level some of these areas are, I think there is a bit of potential to break from the usual EXP zones and spread out some more, but right now I'm getting pulled into the old ones and its annoying the hell out of me when I could be doing a new camp with no competition at all.

Re: new leveling areas!!

There were some interesting camp possibilities. Valkurm alternates with worms in North Gustaberg [s] and Grauberg [s] were the first potential camp I saw--Worms are the most awesome XP critters bar none. No HP, can't move and you can Silence them.

Those whatchacallems--the things where you defend stuff or attack stuff (with the sword-head dudes) seem to occur relatively frequently so I'm wondering if you can intersperse regular grinding with periodic defense/offense campaign stuff. Might be really cool once everyone warms up to the new areas and we get our intel straight.

Re: new leveling areas!!

Probably some good leveling areas for different level spans (as previously pointed out), but running around getting all the maws you really dont see but a handful of T's and VT's, and those are all beastmen (not all that great for meriting and only in the few new zones). I get the feeling that if any new meriting areas are to come, that they will be arriving later. Also not sure how they plan to make meriting in the new areas as enticing as the TAU ones. Either put in several spots where the right setups can get nearly 20k/hr xp or nerf the hell out of the current areas. I know a lot of people don't like the burn parties, but I still hold that I'd rather see them come up with ways for regular parties to get the same xp/hr as burns rather than nerfing burns altogether. Usually unless you have the perfect 6 jobs with the perfect gear you're not gonna get more than 10-15k/hr. Would be nice if the smaller parties things work and you can get close to 10k/hr in meriting areas to come. Losing some xp/hr would be worth not having to find a ful 6.

Re: new leveling areas!!

There's a little "dingle" in Sauromugue Champaign [s] @ (G-8) that has 5 Diving Beetles in it all nicely spaced.. Might be nice depending on the beetles' level and repop rate.

Re: new leveling areas!!

Alright good job on finding stuff, i like where this is going ^^
I heard from this thread that South Gustaberg in the past had worms? By chance did you get a level range? At least what lvl party could take them on?
I know not all the areas are released yet, but that's no excuse to stop looking! Keep finding those areas guys! I need to go back into the past and look again too...
Oh, and a question on those Djinn things, they're bombs right? I know they're not the monster for parties, but they blow up right? That's perfect for bsts! They should be really strong monsters and good for meriting i assume, especially if you find the right place. Er.. those Djinn things do blow up... right?

Re: new leveling areas!!

All other bomb type mobs blow up as far as I am aware, so I can only assume that these new ones do as well.

I believe someone somewhere said the lower level stuff in the zones just outside of cities are good for parties around lvl 15.

In Gusteberg S I have been soloing my lvl 14 DNC on tunnel worms, they come out as DC most of them, and sapplings as EM.

Re: new leveling areas!!

A bit premature probably, but any potential camp sites for the lvl 72-75 range?

Re: new leveling areas!!

So far, the toughest things I've seen running around in the past has been Tough. Granted, I haven't been down Windurst's leg, but between the San d'Oria leg and the Bastok leg the juiciest mobs have been Tough. I think they're probably planning to have the unfinished levels be the top end. Of course, you could always grab a duo/trio and set up shop farming Tough beastmen in one of the three "new" areas.

Re: new leveling areas!!

Grauberg had plenty of IT+ Mobs to me at lvl 70, though I don't think Hippogrypsh and Wyverns are the best EXP mobs.

Most of the little mobs seem to be about 75-ish in lvl, but the bigger ones can top 80+ from my estimates. So there might be some pre-75 EXP camps, namely on things like Robber Crabs or Beetles.

As for the starter zones, they seem to have a lvl 10-40 range, excluding beastmen. Smaller mobs near the gates will be good for lower lvl pts and soloers and eventually things scale up to the point lvl 30 people might be able to find VT or IT-- mobs to exp on. however, those beastmen are still gonna be there, and they're at *least* 60-65 mobs.
