But, basically I really want to get in to FFXI, and I'll have about 4/5 hours a day to invest, how long do you think it will take (or did it take you) to get to
level 30
level 75
and to be Financially stable
Basically how long is it going to take me to really get to where I'm a stable character and can actually participate in the game?

Depending on what time of the day you play and how well you make gil, the amount of time to get to level 30 and 75 will differ greatly. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 09-25-2007, 10:03 AM | #3 (permalink) | | Keeper of Knowledge Join Date: May 2006 Location: Al'Taieu Posts: 2,827 Style: Light - Version 6 My Mood: Thanks: 486 Thanked 485x in 331 Posts Gil: 345 Bank: 71,731 Total Gil: 72,076 Donate | Re: Time required I'm what you'd call a "casual" player, as I do play every day but not for hours and hours and hours. My kids prevent me from really playing all the time.
I've been playing for three years, and I only got my first 75 job a few months ago. Ultimately, how much you put into it will be how much you get out, and if you're really lucky and you always get parties right away and they're GOOD parties, you can level very quickly in this game. But I'm not going to stand here and tell you that you're going to be 75 by next month. I'd say average to 75 on a first job is ... 6 - 8 months, maybe? That's what I seem to see. ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~Aksannyi~~Hades~~75WHM~75RDM~75BLM~64WAR~~Mama Gamer~~<3 Cerealkiller~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ~~ | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 09-25-2007, 10:05 AM | #4 (permalink) | | Model A7M2 FFXIWiki Team Join Date: Aug 2003 Location: Puerto Rico Posts: 3,155 Style: Light - Version 6 My Mood: Thanks: 278 Thanked 820x in 435 Posts Gil: 59,298 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 59,298 Donate | Re: Time required It depends entirely on how you prioritize your time. Someone who's constantly exploring, doing quests/missions, and partaking in activities such as chocobo racing/breeding, etc. on the side will take much longer to reach any given level than someone who's focused on getting to 75 and worrying about the rest later.
If that was your goal, you could make it to 75 in 1-2 months.
Money? Everyone has their methods, few will share their real tricks with you. You'll have to do your own research and trial and error to find how you'll become financially stable. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 09-25-2007, 10:24 AM | #5 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Apr 2004 Posts: 150 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 1 Thanked 5x in 4 Posts Gil: 3,838 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 3,838 Donate | Re: Time required All i can tell you is

Getting my mnk to 75 was longer than any of my other jobs. COR so far has been pretty decent.
If you play melee, expect a longer wait time. mages and tanks tend to have better invite rates thus allowing you to level faster.
All though, you could lvl fast as any job if you created your own pt every time. Omni@Remora: NIN75 RNG75 MNK75 COR75 BST64 BRD53

And about the OP, I'm the living proof that as you level up having little time to play (less than 4 hours) will make you feel like you are just wasting your time at higher levels (50+).
There are also plenty of activities that you can do in an hour or less, but for me the muling involved would take a good chunk of my already very limited play time, so most of the times I don't even bother. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | All times are GMT -8.
