Search Comments! USE THEM.

I really don't care if people use there search comments or not its not a huge deal. Its one of those details hardly spoken about in the FFXI handbook and hardly ever used. What do people really look for when looking to fill spots in parties? The optimal job and lvl. You can simply ask the person whats their TNL thru /tell or when you invite them. I've never looked for or at search comments when making parties really doesn't make a difference. Never made a difference when i had my comments up LFG or had Mission info and item info...i get more invites when i'm not LFG on BLU or NIN.

I'd say with the player base on Fairy that 10%JP use Search comments and 5% NA use Search comments and 0% for G or F users becasue i've never seen them really online...also a good assumption would be to say that the mass player base really doesn't care...except for the select "Special" player....

This is stupid. I put TNL in my comments so I don't have to remember it 30 minutes from now when I get an invite. If people would read the comments you wouldn't have to ask.

Seeing this looks like its going to be a NA vs EU vs JP epeen fight...

Facts:

/seacoms are very much useful if read
Communication between all Members in a party makes things work better
/seacoms have dwindled over the years
people misuse seacoms all the time
Time with the game = Japanese -> North America -> Europe

IMHO
Japanese partys on average tend to comunicate better about the time they have to play
On my server i notice a good majority of people who use seacoms being japanese
VanaCompany as well as a few other Japanese ls are strides apart from our major English ls'

You missed the point, why should Mhurron in this case have to remember the the numbers because you failed to read in the posted /seacom.

b - I suppose remembering them would be much easier if I did nothing but stared at the screen drooling on myself while waiting for an invite. I do other stuff so I made the important information available to any one who can read so I don't have to remember it.

I do think it's a good idea to put your tnl in search comments. Not all party creators ask your tnl. It would be bad if you were, say, 55, and the rest of the party 54, and your tnl is 500, and you only find that out after the second mob kill.

Common practice is always different between servers. On fairy most people use comments for missions exspecially the prommies and CoP missions hardly ever for EXP parties or merit parties for that fact. Also on fairy i'd say there's more of a NA player base then there is EU and JP. There's more NAs setting records, clearing Dynamis and kings now then there are JPs or EUs.

then in reality thats the fault of the party leader not the player for not putting up TNL comments.

is it WAY TOO MUCH to ask a persons TNL when they enter a party or even before the leader sends a invite??

we have probably a 1.5:1 almost a 2:1 na:jp ratio so, like I said all servers are different so you can't point fingers at someone for someone being an ass and not agreeing and yes again this will become a battle of the epeen for na vs jp vs eu player bases. And no malevolent we usually get along but your comment was outa line imho.

My TNL is the first thing I place on that comment. And when this /tell comes to me, it just makes me die inside.

Well, keep in mind sometimes when I invite people to a party it's been a rather long and frustrating time of sending out messages that get ignored, so myself I may be sending the same message to anyone of that particular job type/any player in order to make the party.

I normally don't ask the TNL of people, just don't really care about it really, common message is:

(Excuse me....) (Experiance points party), (Do you need it?) @ X, Y, Z, (Camp) @ (Insert zone here)
