Ok so I played this game on Xbox360 for the longest time until I got my new PC, then when I got my new PC I installed everything yesterday, and I plugged in the gamepad, installed the logitech gamepad software...everything works fine in the controller config screens, but won't affect anything during gameplay.

The last question, because I completely forget where the option is...where do I set the screen resolution, it seems to have defaulted to 800x600, and I want to set it to 1280x1024

ok this goes for both your questions:

Start > Applications > Playonline/FFXI and there will be both a config for POL and for FFXI, you'll have to activate the controller for both and set up the keys (it has several styles of default settings but you can also bind it freely however you choose). The resolution setting is in the FFXI config, along with several other gfx options.

Well, I'm still going to be mainly playing on 360, but I had it on PC before 360 and when I got my new PC...it was just too tempting to reinstall, but I just forgot where all the settings were.

Not being able to configure the triggers really annoyed me as well, just unplugged controller and went back to keyboard and mouse much more fun for me lol.

but if anyone figures out the triggers send me a message.
