Question about the FFXI intro movie

Hi, I have had FFXI on the 360 for almost a year now, and now that I got an HDTV to play it on I remembered the really cool movie intro that it played the first time you enter the game and I was wondering if there is anyway to watch it again? Thanks! ^^

hmm for PC there's an option in FFXI config to play the movie everyone we run the game. For 360 I don't really know. Try look around any options of settings before you launch the game.

I think someone asked the same some time ago, don't remember if it was about the PS2 though but what I do remember is that they could watch it again using the installation disc... or something of the sort.

Yeah, on PS2 I just put the game disc in the tray. It only has 3 options, and "Play Intro" is one. I bet you could probably do the same on the 360.

I play on the 360 as well and I have serached for the option oer and over again and I can't find it. I don't think there is one though if someone knows of it's location please tell.

Did you re-insert the install disc like mentioned above?

There is no "intall disk" persay....every thing is on one DVD, install, play and expansions.

I've looked my self and i can't see any were that will let you re see the intro.

Best thing to do is look for the intro movie on the net ^^

Are you saying you NEED the disc IN the tray to start the game? Well, that bites. I thought it would save in the HDD and start from there, just like the PS2. Oh well.

My GFs brother-in-law just got it for Xmas on 360, and I'm going this weekend for New Years. I'll tinker with it and see what I can find.

And yeah, about the video online, youtube.com should have it, lol.

IIRC you dont need any disk to start playing on PS2 (im not sure, never played on Sony's machine), but on 360 you need the DVD to start, so there is no option for watch move/etc...it just start with POL. but ill check it

Well it does a bit of both, it Installs to the HD, but plays from both HD and DVD, sometimes you can notice the loading times when changing zones IMO.

In the POL viewer, before logging in, there should be an "Install" option. If you choose the option to install FFXI it should take you to the screen where you can choose to watch the opening movie again. I don't know if it will let you do this without forcing you to re-install, but it's at least worth a try.

Yea for the 360 version you need the disk in to play it. I guess I could try to go to the install option like you said above but I really dont want it to start installing again since it takes like a couple hours lol. If anyone that doesnt mind it re-installing which it probly wont could try it that would be great ^^ lol. Either that or I could just watch it on the net. But that kind of takes the point out of it since the whole reason for me to watch it is so I could see it in HD on my TV lol.

If I were you I'd try going to YouTube or some equally popular video site and looking for "FFXI intro movie" or something like that, chances are you'll be able to watch it again that way if you don't mind not seeing it on your XBox.

I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but i play on PC and the intro movie plays every time i log into the game... i click and it skips it though. There is an option in the menu under 'configuration' i think, that allows you to turn off the intro movie. I keep forgetting to do that though, and it keeps playing when i log in.

I don't know if it is different on the Xbox though. *throws her two cents in*

By this, i mean that if it is the same set up as the PC version, you might simply have this turned 'off' in the config menu. Worth a look, I would think..
