Well I'm back at last. Unfortunately I have to choose between having the Xbox online or this PC so I can't go on this forum as I play FFXI.

Well your advice certainly helped and the person that said "one of the best things you can do is find a good linkshell" was certainly right. Pretty soon on, as I lay dead in an area I shouldn't have ventured into, I was raised by a person who gave me a linkpearl for the Tranquility linkshell and from then on the game took on a totally different feel. I rapidly learned more and more about the game at a far higher rate than I would have without being part of that linkshell.

My world is Remora and my character is called Zubon, currently a RDM/BLM.

Glad to hear you're having a good time in FFXI, Manji. This game can be a bit rough on newcomers; having a support network there to lend you advice and the odd helping hand is the best approach when you're first starting.

At best guess, my LS estimates that it will take more than half a year for people to figure out how to win enough in Salvage to complete a single piece, assuming all necessary drops go to one designated person. It'll probably take less time after the learning curve is overcome, but everyone is basically going into Salvage blind, and until the players have a knowledge base that can consistently win in Salvage, it'll slow down progress on all fronts as far as the new gear.
