2006 Starlight Celebration

2006 Starlight Celebration
Start out talking to your NPC of your region for the event
Also go to a moogle and buy a hat for 10k if you don't already have one
They will give you a present for the kiddies, trade it to any child npc you can find and you will know if it is a ok npc by getting this message

After that go find the tree!

once you find the tree spam it to death like everyone else around you and make sure you /cheer it right before it hits the fountain and goes poof
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...t/img_0487.png
After that find Fake Smile Bringer (FSB) changes each time also
he will have a santa hat on and moogle is w/ him when you click

After that talk to the NPC again and you should get your reward ^^

You can get 5 items, Dream Robe, Dream Robe +1 and the Mog house item from each country
Order > Mog House Item > Robe > Robe+1
Also you can warp after getting enough love lol

TY Latse and Beo of hades for working with me and helping me do this
For HQ hat, if I am not mistaken buy your country's Tree from moogle and stick it in your mog house over night but you must have given enough presents to the kiddies
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...t/img_0511.png
you should get the hat the next day, or just a present lol

I'm not sure how on earth you're supposed to figure this out unless you just have an inherent distrust of moogles, but here goes.

Before you even start, turn on your chat filter for emotes. Trust me.

Every few in-game hours a Twinkling Treant and a Nomad Moogle will spawn in each of the three main cities. They appear in Windurst Woods, Bastok Markets, and Northern San d'Oria. You can /cheer the moogle on to help it defeat the treant, or /cheer the treant on to help it get to the fountain.

If you don't cheer the treant, after the treant dies you can talk to the smilebringer that appears at the fountain for a kiddie present, which you can then trade to a child if you're wearing a Dream Hat for xmas fame so that the smilebringer will teleport you to another nation. NQ Dream Hats can be purchased from the moogles in Northern San d'Oria, Windurst Waters, or Port Bastok.

If you cheer the treant, when the treant reaches the fountain it will add more decorations to it, and the smilebringer will give you a quest instead of a present when you talk to him/her. Find the NPC in the same zone that's wearing a Dream Hat, talk to them, then return to the smilebringer for an event item reward. It seems like there's a short list of NPCs that the game picks from to recieve the hat.

So far I have recieved Dream Robe, Dream Robe +1, a furnishing called Dream Platter, and fireworks as rewards. I already had the hat and hat +1 from last year. Likely Dream Hat +1 is recieved this way also. The Dream Platter Furnishing is from San d'Oria, Dream Stocking is recieved in Windurst, and Dream Coffer is given in Bastok.

Thanks to Daos and Illuen for additional information.

Starting locations for the treant:
Northern San d'Oria F-7
Bastok Markets D-11
Windurst Woods H-8
Locations of possible fake smilebringers (incomplete):
Northern San d'Oria:
Justi G-8
Vichuel F-4
Tavourine E-4

Bastok Markets:
Belizieg E-8

Windurst Woods:
Retto-Marutto H-12
Taraihi-Perunhi K-10
Thanks to Daos and Illuen for additional information.

Both are from last year, only 3 things are new this year and all of them are mog house items that take up space :X

The Three pieces of furniture have 2 Storage... So they actually increase your space by 1, not take it up. Also, if you use any Lightning based moghancements, they will strengthen it. I use Noble's Bed and Emeralda, so these pieces are the perfect substitute for the dull, and increasingly ubiquitous Flower Stands in my house... and they can be placed on top of tables.

Cool Re: 2006 Starlight Celebration

Okay, so you can get a santa's robe, then a robe +1, but what exactly does the +1 do?

I involved myself in one of these xmas events a few years ago, and won the santa's hat +1 which gives you ginger cookies. (along with collecting the trees from all 3 main nations too) But now I'm starting to think that these events are all just a silly fad, and I'm not too sure if you really get anything special in any case!

So you can get 3 pieces of equipment to put in your mog house, and give you a little bit of extra room for your mog safe...... so what?! You can always buy others from the AH, some of which give an extra 2 or 3 safe spaces too!
I don't really see a point to them all really! That's just my personal opinion though.

In a way, I'll just be glad when xmas is over, then no more event for another year! Phew!

It is just good for a little change of pace. This is my first Christmas with the game, and I'm enjoying the event. Already have all three furniture pieces, and have the robe and hat.

I've been wanting a Dream Hat +1 forever, and now I finally get my chance!

Re: 2006 Starlight Celebration

The +1 dream robe has a def of 3 and increases the effect of selbina milk when it's used, which regens your hp. Handy for starting a new job I'd say ^.^

I thought the pieces of furniture were really lovely, they are so colorful, they don't bring that much in terms of stats, but I love to decorate my mog house and I was going to buy more furniture for it anyway. I don't see it as a fad, but as a fun thing to do on occasion that gets people back in town and meet others. I've met a few people on some of these events or got to spend some quality time with friends on my list.

It's not really about getting some uber limited time edition item, but more because it's enjoyable and breaks some of the monotomy, not to mention it brings some nice color to the cities!

I'm getting the impression that the dream robe +1 dispenses selbina milk. Is that true, or maybe I'm just a bit confused here.

The dream hat +1 dispenses ginger cookies, so I think it would be a good idea if the robe +1 were to do the same thing too, otherwise I don't see much point. You can always get a def 3 on other items anyway!

Re: 2006 Starlight Celebration

Dream Robe +1 does exactly what Hazina said. It enhances the effect of selbina milk by increasing its duration by 30 seconds, which means you get 50 hit points back from them instead of 40. It does not dispense the milk. I suppose it would be helpful for leveling a new melee job from 1-10. If it's like Roshi Jinpachi, you only need to have the robe on when you drink the milk, and then you can switch to a better piece of armor for fighting.

The furnishings all give two slots of storage so they're actually pretty useful to get some more space if your mog house isn't already stocked with furniture. I've heard they give you food items too, if you set them up in your layout for a while.

Hmm..... I maybe mistaken here, but it sounds to me like this effect with the Selbina milk acts in a similar way to those rings you can get from the NPCs who you get signet from. (I cannot remember the the names of the rings right now, but I already have one of them)

The rings are those which you get a little higher exp from, and they have a certain number of charges.

It's just that, you mentioned something about getting hp back, and I maybe confusing it with exp.

I already have a bed, (which I added from starting the mog house quest - a bit like the goobiebag quest to get more spaces in your mog safe) a chest of drawers, a small safe thing, and 3 xmas trees in my mog house from a previous xmas event, so what do you get to put in your mog house this year?......
some more furniture and fancy objects to go on top of them?

I'm not sure I would have enough room in there!
But I'm on the brink of thinking that I would NOW.... quite like a dream robe +1, because it would fit very well with the hat +1 I already have, and would look very nice!

Wow, you keep a lot in your mog house! I throw out the Christmas trees when I'm done with them.

I only keep items that I want to use for various Moghancements and a Miniature Airship that overpowers all for Moghancement: Experience. I remove it when I want other Moghancements. Plus a bed for looks.

My moghouse looks like crap, but its functional.

Re: 2006 Starlight Celebration

Anyone know about the FAME levels of this event? It says you must have MAX fame to have your Mog give you a gift, but how do you know it's maxed?

Update:

I found out in another post...

My friend said he found a Gateau aux fraises in the dream coffer...

Id guess you have to raise bastok holiday fame to find the gateau, sandorian to find the buche au chocolat and windurstian to find whatever is in the stocking

Good luck to all!

Forgot to say that i used the quick way to raise fame, once i got the robe +1 and all furnishings i did the treant process once more in each city to recieve fireworks as a reward and used those fireworks as the gifts to the children(so 10 in each city) to reach max holiday fame
