I've messed with almost all of my settings, and I've come to the conclusion that FFXI hates me.

I managed to connect finally, but the connection broke after about 30 seconds ingame, just enough time for me to get my LS's messages to start coming up.

I can log in but I will get kicked every minute or so. I have already had one visit from the "tech" guy with no result. He was supposed to get back with me yesterday but didn't. The worst part is that there are no other internet service providers in my area, unless I go DSL which I don't want to do.
Funny how they keep telling me that the poor internet signal is on my end, but up to last week my connection was great. Plus it seems that a lot of people are having trouble with Comcast.
Can you guys check the internet on your PC's with Comcast internet? I can't get pages to load fully, and most pages won't load at all. (I am at work  )

Next day my problems were gone. Sergeant Major

After calling Comast to complain of OVERLY slow internet connection, they told me it was most likely on my end and that my only option was to schedule a tech to come out and take a look. In the middle of that sentence I promptly ran a tracert > comcast.net and it showed the hops coming to a crawl at Comcast's servers, one hop taking like 900+ms to respond... I relayed this info to the guy on the phone and he said he'd pass it up.

I'm kinda tired of cable.

So it seems Comcast is having trouble reaching JP servers. Sergeant Major
