mystery of the missing FFXI players

Over the past couple of weeks I've seen knida...well alot of XPing players(and some otherwise) on my server go missing.(this is besides the usual long wait time for a lvl 41 summoner...my second job) I really don't think they quit, but I do wonder where they could have gone? Lower Jueno was even pretty empty...

I suspect it is becase FF12 just came out...what do you think?

FFXII and lot's of people also stop leveling jobs at lvl37, which you pretty much just past. It seems to me that Lower Jeuno has been relatively empty since the release of ToAU actually.

Re: mystery of the missing FFXI players

I wouldn't be surprised if FFXII has a permanent impact to some degree. I would expect most of the players to come back in a few weeks but some might just stay away.

Some of 'em, maybe, but you can beat the game and complete all the side quests in like a week or two.

Personally, playing XII this last week has actually made me miss XI. I'm sure your stray sheep will wander back soon enough. =]

XI is better than XII in my opinion.

Re: mystery of the missing FFXI players

I'd expect so, being that XII is a static game with a finite ending and XI isn't. I'm still going to pick up a copy tho.

I don't like reg. games like that. I was never really a gamer until I discovered the joy of online games. And even more so when I found MMORPGs.

Re: mystery of the missing FFXI players

With days like I've had recently, I'd prefer a few computerized NPC companions to some of the idiots who have invited me to PT.

You really can NOT compare these two. Completely different games.

Re: mystery of the missing FFXI players

What people I know are playing in the UK right now:

FF12 (well, more NA, but some have on import)
Disgaea 2
Pro Evo Soccer 6
Football Manager 2007
Bully/Caneas Cadem (depending on location)

And of course all the other games people pick up (I got Disgaea 1 and 2 myself this week)... Xmas rush, people may have more free time but they also have more games to play.

Peaks and troughs, mein freund. When choco racing comes out, expect people to flood back because there's no real point to breeding right now - although I'm not saying it's not fun because I love it - but lots of people I know don't "see the point in throwing gil at it".

Re: mystery of the missing FFXI players

FFXII and PSU, in addition to other recent RPG releases is a leading factor in the missing players. Its the holiday shopping season and all the RPG big guns are out.

FFIII for DS hits next week, US and EU players never got that. But since its on DS that's just two Final Fantasy games I can play at once.

Btw
