So true.

RMTers use multiple accounts and many times, Claim Bots. These aren't detectable automatically through whatever tools SE is using.

They're only caught on case by case. Like if you are able to get a suspicious botter to consistantly claim an unclaimed mob in front of him... THEN have a GM witness this, that *MIGHT* be enough proof.... but that all depends on the GM blah blah blah.

RMT won't be effected by this as much as end-game shells. But i can bet most of the "legit" players who use claim bots, probably use warp too.

All in all, i like seeing these bans. Stirs up the population a little bit, as one strike is all you need to get banned for second offense.

Its only the RMT that monopolise tho while using the hacks so they cause a much more severe inpact, Id rather they were banded than a "legit" player using cheats. And alot of them do it to beat the RMT neway, still not right but at least they sell stuff at proper prices. On hades at least

I'd rather they ban them both. I don't consider non-RMT players "legit" if they
cheat/hack.

Both RMTs and non-RMTs that cheat/hack are more than likely going to monopolize NM
over players who don't cheat/hack. This is better because they sell stuff at proper
prices? I think I would rather have a legitimate shot at the NM to get the drop myself.

Anyone who uses anything that's against the ToS should be banned.

I don't speed/claim hack or any of that other crap. While I do think certain things (such as windower) should be legitimized, I follow the ToS. It's SE's game, SE's rules.

Call me a rule-follower. I'm the kid in class who never cheats to earn his grades.

"Legit" was in quotations for a reason, call it sarcasm if you want. Im not saying dont ban them both, Im all for that but I'd rather RMT over the non legit legit players. I agree with Mog as as well about windower

Re: About Action Taken Against Third-Party Tool Users

it just makes the game a little less fun if you have to worry about someone else beating you to every punch. Waiting for jaggedy eared jack to pop only to have it snatched from me by someone named "spdgfosdk." It really chaps my ass about the people who are still doing the if I cant win then I wont play. My answer is to have them do us all a favor and pull your lip over your head and swallow.

Omg, I was banned for nothing!

Wait...no I wasn't. I pray to god this doesn't turn into a windower war like last time.

I am interested to see who on my server was banned. The ones who swear up and down they never cheat and then swear they play on PS2 when they're account is suspended.

Re: About Action Taken Against Third-Party Tool Users

Love to see SE targeting legit players like myself. I called them about my account being suspended for 72 hours and they said either because of 3rd party software or gil buying. I am on PC but I don't use, never have used, and never will use 3rd party software. And as far as gil buyikng goes. 1. it is sad as hell if someone needs to buy there gil to have the best items. 2. my wife would literally kill me if i bought fake/digital money with real money. hell she doesnt even like me playing the game... ( I think she got on my account and used 3rd party tools O.o Y_Y)

Re: About Action Taken Against Third-Party Tool Users

It seems like whatever methods they're using to collect information on those who are being banned take time, a lot of time. I know getting rid of the RMT seems so hopeless, but the RMT do know how far they can go without being caught. It might be taking SE a little longer to confirm that the RMT is cheating/hacking.

I know it's a long shot, but 'legit' players seem to think they wont get caught and flaunt it. I've witnessed the RMT use a bevy of hacks, but it really can be hard to accuse them at times.

Banned for buying gils? They actually give you that reason? That's pretty rare... my first time to read about players getting banned for this reason.

Hooray. ^^ Maybe they got some of those new gilseller groups I've seen around...and maybe some of the ones I've seen skulking around my precious Alchemist's Guild (unconfirmed but suspected by my paranoid nature)....

Actually though, is anyone else having connection issues? I had some, it got better after awhile, then my LS was having alot of connection issues, I ran past an unusual amount of people DCing too. Since it happens on the same day as a bunch of accounts being banned, I kinda wonder if there are some DDoS attacks going on.

Re: About Action Taken Against Third-Party Tool Users

Ya know... these bannings wouldn't piss me off near as much as they do if SE actually banned the people that really need to be banned. Yes, the people that got banned probably did cheat, but SE completely neglected almost every known RMT. Mee Deggi and all the other NMs are still swarming with RMTers.

It's harder to prove someone is selling gil then it is to prove someone Jumping from point A to point B. Other then saying 'they're always there!' how can you prove who is a gil seller?

Seems to me like they must have caught some gilsellers in this group of bannings.... Korroloka Tunnels was awfully quiet last night! Was a nice change of pace!
