Recently, I have risen to RDM41 and I've found that in the upper levels, party invites are not so common anymore. My question is this: What do you do while you're looking for an XP Party?
Some people say you get more invitations if you stay around Jeuno, but then again if I stay in Jeuno I feel like I'm wasting time. Of course, if I go out to hunt NMs/Mine/Get Keys will you not invite me, even if I have Warp and HP set in Jeuno?
As an aside, how do you search for Party members? Do you use what I use?
/sea all inv level xx<xx or
/sea all level xx<xx If you're not familiar with the Search feature or don't understand what I mean, a Green Search Bubble is my way of explaining the little green dot that appears by your name when you use Search->Edit Comment->EXP Party. It's generally a mix, depending on what I've got going on in real life, and in the game. If I have stuff to do around the house, I'll just sit in my mog, flag up, with a search comment (I always have a search comment), and hope for the best. If I don't really have that much to do in real life, and I do have stuff to do in-game, then I'll get that done. It's an ideal time for me to craft, which I do a bit of, or finish some quests (although I do regret hurrying to Jeuno to join that crappy party after I'd already walked all the way to Fei'Yin for my Warp II quest).
Icemage - He's asking in general. I think his job and level really have little to do with what he's asking.
Although, yeah. RDM @41+ shouldn't have any troubles. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 08-20-2006, 08:07 PM | #5 (permalink) | | Pink Mage Brain of Knowledge Join Date: May 2006 Location: Bastok/Illinois Posts: 1,579 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 154 Thanked 182x in 120 Posts Gil: 15,733 Bank: 81,727 Total Gil: 97,460 Donate | Re: What do you do when you're LFP? Hah. I figured that, but I'm rather impatient I guess; I generally consider 20 minutes to be a long time to wait for a party. This weekend has been especially awful, but I won't get into that. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 08-20-2006, 08:09 PM | #6 (permalink) | | Loaded With Sodium Oracle of Knowledge Join Date: Jul 2005 Posts: 7,964 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 448 Thanked 1,591x in 1,001 Posts Gil: 3,514 Bank: 33,189 Total Gil: 36,703 Donate | Re: What do you do when you're LFP? | Originally Posted by Sabaron | | Hah. I don't want to hear about 20 minutes being too long. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 08-20-2006, 08:54 PM | #7 (permalink) | | Has Job ADD Join Date: May 2006 Location: WA state USA Posts: 156 Style: Light - Version 6 My Mood: Thanks: 27 Thanked 8x in 8 Posts Gil: 9,189 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 9,189 Donate | Re: What do you do when you're LFP? Lately, when LFP, I've been sitting in Jeuno with my flag up and a search comment on. I always use a search comment, it seems to get me chosen quicker than not. I usually play the AH or craft to pass the time. Since dinging 32, wait times have been almost nonexistant (30 min or less), but I'm sure I've just been lucky.
When forming a party, I use /sea all inv or /sea all *appropriate lvl range* if there is a shortage of lfp people. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 08-21-2006, 03:44 AM | #8 (permalink) | | Forker of eyes Join Date: Jun 2006 Posts: 211 Style: Light - Version 6 My Mood: Thanks: 5 Thanked 10x in 6 Posts Gil: 6,588 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 6,588 Donate | Re: What do you do when you're LFP? | Originally Posted by Icemage | Red mages at level 41 should have no lack of invites. After my rdm hit 41 (a looooooooong time ago) lfp became a thing of the past. I've had multiple invites as soon as I've logged in, even before my moogle appears. Invites when /thf, farming with a search comment stating I've not got my xp gear or that I don't want a party. I've even had invites when /anon just because the leader/pt member saw me casting refresh or wearing a piece of AF and they assume I must be their level.
My drk is a different story though, since it entered the 50s lfp has become a horrible task and there are only so many quests you can do or crappy NMs to hunt before you get bored. I think my current record is 16 consecutive hours lfp as drk. I wouldn't mind too much but I do have great gear and I always make sure I write a good search comment, we're just so far down the pecking order its not funny. So what do I do whilst lfp?
Play Shadow Hearts atm, probably play KH2 when it eventually comes out over here. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 08-21-2006, 03:54 AM | #9 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2003 Posts: 125 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 1 Thanked 1 Time in 1 Post Gil: 1,157 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 1,157 Donate | Re: What do you do when you're LFP?
