Controllers (for PC importers)

Do any of you PC importers use a controller?

I have recently imported the pc version of ffxi...dont have the game yet but good question...I have been wondering too if it is worth it buying a controller converter for the pc....does it make it easier to control with the controller ?

I bought a converter, and I think it will a bit easier to play ...

Most of the people I play with that have the PC version use a PSX controller.

It makes the game much much much better. I would not advise playing without one. You can do it, but you're missing out.

It doesn't do the vibration fuction, but that hasn't really been a concern for me.

Would this controller be on the official website of Radio Shack? I checked and i couldn't seem to find it. oh btw i'm new ^^. But, i'm not a n00b to FFXi. I did my research.

I believe they're talking about a controller converter (ie - Playstation Controller to USB) so you can use your Playstation controller on your computer. :sweat:

I know this has been said in this thread like three times before but i SERIOUSLY advise that u get a joypad and not use the kb+mouse way. first of all, I hardly ever use my mouse, u can change targets by pressing 0 on the num-pad. You move with 8,4,6,2 on the num pad, change views with 5 on the num pad, move camera with the arrow keys, use enter to select, arrow keys to choose in menu's, opnen up menu using - on the numpad, rest using * on the num pad...... im babbling.

ANYWAY, the reason this is bad is when u try to type. Cos youre doing everything through keyboard, ur character stops><;; this does NOT help when 1) ur running from an enemy and try to call for help 2) when you're following party members and u stop... means u gotta relocate them thru the map (if u have one) and 3)... it's just really inconvenient not to be able to do things and talk. The only way you can move and talk using kb+mouse is by using the mouse, and cos mostly everything can be done by kb, using the mouse feels strange
