1. An option to turn off all <call> sounds to my local client and still have normal sound effects on.
2. A storage system which isn't so limited so I don't have to mule for each job change and use my inbox as extra storage. (hopefully the changes to the Mog Locker will be a step in the right direction).
3. An option or screen I can enter when I'm leaving my char bazaaring at night time, so there is nothing to render on-screen. Can't stand my gfx card working overtime all night to render rolanberry fields when I'm not there.
4. A way to see how much accuracy, ranged accuracy and evasion I have.
5. An option to have chosen timers on-screen instead of having to spam /echo or /recast macros for things like Utsusemi and Berzerk.
6. Automatic Auto-sort of inventory (man that's a big one)
7. Put back the damn default party search to be -2 and +2 your lvl range.
8. Have a device that carries all your linkpearls in 1 inv slot, with a sensible maximum like 10.
9. Be able to use any of your account chars (mules) for the gold world pass gifts, and not only the 1st one as it is now.
10. Somehow define a system for putting your name down for common quest or mission asks, so people don't have to shout in Jeuno for Zilart 14 etc.

I'm guessing you didn't see this thread. Although this one is admittedly more specific in tone.

Anyway, some good points. I think most of that can be answered by "Becuase of the limitations of the PS2", which sucks, but them's the breaks with FFXI. Some of them I'd be all over though.

The /search issue seems unnecessary to me because it's very easy to just type /sea all XX-XX or /sea all inv XX-XX. I'm just saying. But it's not a terrible idea.

I'd love for them to implement #10. Seriously. I would love it.

1. Agreed completely. However i cant picture FFXI without the calls, sometimes its helpful, sometimes i just have to blist whoever's doing them.
2. Im a crafter, i share your pain, but not to an extent where i feel like MORE storage would help, it would only fill up with more junk, and i'd end up complaining again.. its a matter of keeping organized, dont keep junk, sell stuff if youre not gonna use it for months, hold AF in npc, event items in NPC.. but alas, im only rdm and blm actively, i dont have tons of gear..
3. I dont see how this is a problem.. unless you want to use the computer while bazaaring.. there's allways windower ._. (use google)
4. Agreed. Though i think 3 dex = 1 acc, or something like that.. ask someone else D:/

10. Indeed. They are hoping that the new linkshell community might help with this, but theyre o-so-very wrong. It doesnt let you search easily for someone who needs the same mission as you, so doesnt help.

my personal feelings on those:

1) would be very nice.
2) yep i agree big style.... even just expanding the number of things you can send through the delivery box would help massively, then at least i could send job gear to/from a mule in one go, instead of send half me gear> logout> log on to mule empty delivery box> logoff> log on to main> send the rest of m stuff> logoff> logon with mule empty delivery box> logoff> logon with main> and thats if i only have 16 or less items to send.
3) hmm... had never thought of this. guess it wouldn't hurt.
4) i think the fact that these are hidden is more of a concious design point on SE's part.
5) THe GUI needs updating in general i feel. there could be so much more done with it, and while the game is functional, it could be made more user friendly.
6) Can't see it happening really, if only for the botting reason.
7) I wouldn't mind this provided that they kept it searching all areas... before it was too easy to use that and miss people who were out farming etc. while seeking, becasue they weren't in your region.
8) Yep, it'd be better really if they didn't take any space, but even condensing them would make a big difference.
9) Again this is intensional i think, the idea isn't to reward every one who can get a friend to start a new mule, but to get new people into the game... Thats what the rewards are for.
10)I had a thought a while back for a notice board in jeuno. For a nominal fee (in gil) you could put up a notice advertising whatever. merc services, organising runs of events, new LS. And it could stay there for say a week. I guess it could require moderation, which could be a pain. Technically if you are talking about doing stuff now/soon (i.e. same night) you could use search comments, (it can be used for more than exp) but it's sadly underused. In fact i've never seen anyone use /seacom for organising mission etc.

I think there may be a third party program that does that, but I'd like it to be part of the actual damn game if at all possible. I mean, I can't live in front of my PC. People need to use the bathroom and answer the phone, SE!

all nice ideas, but (2) cant be done because of PS2 limits and (3) is not needed, the limkpearl thing might be doable...but not sure due to PS2.....

Yes, I would like two things:

Keyring (stores all keys (ALL keys) as either a key item (or maybe like a temporary item, those don't take up inventory space!) or even just one regular inventory item "Keyring" "This ring has many keys". I have maybe twenty chest/coffer keys I would LOVE to get rid of, especially because most of them (like kuftal, bohoya tree...) I'm saving for maps. I just can't carry them all around all the time, but it's amazing how often I'll leave my mog house to go farming in pashow, get shanghaied into helping with a hakutaku eye hunt, run off to the ass end of nowhere to Raise II someone I know, stay to make sure they get their mission/quest done, teleport myself back to dem to try farming again, get hauled down into Valkrum instead, and somehow or other I find myself on Bohoyada tree staring at a coffer thinking "I would give ten thousand EXP to have my key with me right about now..." for the stupid map. And my subjob is still 15 thf because I haven't gotten back to my mog house yet to change it, let alone grab a random assortment of keys.

Pearlbag (since pearlsack is already taken) to hold linkpearls. Either that or the abilibty to put all my other colors of pearl into my Fellowship pearlsack (when I first started the game, I thought that was honestly what a 'pearlsack' was, all the pearls inside it were different colors from different shells).

Granted, I have one linkshell I spend all my time on, but I have three others I check regularly, it'd be nice to not have to run past my mog house to do so.

And it'd be nice to check out one's garden from a nomad moogle.

1. <call> toggle would be nice. I would also like to be able /echo <call>s as well--sometimes I'm not watching the log and it would be nice to hear something when my echo goes off without having to resort to /p spamming.
2. Already been said... functional limitations prevent this... Only SE knows the limits, they'll come up with something, I'm sure.
3. I would like to be able to set up a "shop" that people could go to while I'm offline. Per se, go talk to some guy standing at the AH and type in a person's name to see their shop. This way you could compile an offline list of people who's shops you like to frequent and you could check them periodically. Maybe even a Favorite Sellers list like Ebay that you could use like an /lsmes. Of course we already have the auction house and this type of system would make it rather obselete.
4. You can already see your evasion, you just can't see the bonus. Check out wiki.ffxiclopedia.org for formulas for the various stats. A display would be nice and I would like to see green/red modifiers in the skill screens. and RATK and RACC in the Equipment screen.
5. Something like /recastclock [1-10] [Ability]. The first parameter being the clock slot (maybe appearing on the left side of the screen above the monster hp/party boxes).
6. I don't like automatic autosort. When I'm crafting it's kind of a pain to have my 8 stacks of Reishi Mushrooms all the way at the top and my 8 stacks of Hecteyes Eyes all the way at the bottom below my gear. Automatic "restacking" yes, but automatic resorting no. Restacking being if you end up with something like a stack of 3 and a stack of 10, it would automatically restack the items to 1 and 12. A bit of a pain to code, so I don't think it'll happen.
7. Very nice default level range. A secondary default being the current level range of your party would be most beneficial to Party Leaders.
8. No inventory for pearls at all. Just use the Linkshell screen to hold them.
9. That would defeat the purpose of the Gold Worldpass entirely. I don't think you need a worldpass to create a new mule anyway... All of mine ended up on Asura with me by default, but I may have just been lucky.
10. Having a Quest-requesters search would be the shiz.

/alias command would also be awesome. Does anyone here remember TinTin? The Kickin' Tickin' DikuMUD Client?

Just a note on number 10:

Something like that exists, but no body uses it and most don't even know. If you go through the PoL Viewer into the tribune you can create your own personal ads for everything in game. They're server specific and can be seen by anyone who looks through the tribune. The problem is no one does look through the tribune. The in game search function suffers from the same difficulty, it's there to be used but most people just ignore it.

An ingame message board thing would be a great idea though, but far too difficult to implament. Everyone and their dog would go up and post things if they could from help with simple quests to requests to get plvl'd too Sea. I'm sure some good would come of it, but gaurenteed the majority of it will be requests for plvling, people asking for gi or items or just random junk as such.

Back to the auto-restack thing... Something like this already happens when you flub a delivery. I've tried to send a stack of items and accidentally sent 1 instead. When you pull it back out of the delivery slot, it restacks into the stack it came from. It's not so much that it would be "difficult" to write the code for such a feature, it's that every time a stackable item is inserted in your inventory the engine has to run through your inventory to see if there is a partial stack of those already there and then combine the two stacks. Since I doubt that the inventory is stored in a search tree, the big "O" would approach N cycles where N is the number of inventory slots you have.

I didn't know about that PoL tribune thing, but I do use /sea. The problem with /sea is that you can only flag one thing at a time and the search comment is limited and unsearchable. An in-game search would be far more useful than sifting through personal ads.
