We get along great, and it's a great thing to share with each other. However, if you ever ended up guilded or grouped with us you might think otherwise as we are always play fighting in games.

Seriously though, I don't see any real need for a g/f that play computer games especially one like ffxi, I'd feel obliged to help them, if they needed it ,even if I did'nt want to help whether or not they would understand. Party games otoh...

My husband and I both play, he started at the NA release and I started a little over a year ago. He was thrilled when I started to play cause then I would bitch less at him for spending so much time on the "damn computer playing that damn game".
Being married and playing at the same time doesn't *obligate* him to help me as was mentioned in a previous post. He did help me though, and I helped him. We were also in a linkshell that had more real life couples who played ffxi than single people, so that was a lot of fun.
It's nice knowing that you can "bitch" about the game to someone who knows what you are talking about and you don't have to give background information (I tried explaining a ksbcnm to my mom when she called in the middle of a run, -not- pretty lol).
Anyway, I think it's great your wife started to play (no matter how she got started), and that you can add ffxi to your list of things you can enjoy together.
