When I first started out, I played an Elvaan male. Yes, subligar got annoying. I wanted to go on a certain server, so I made a Hume male. Wrong one >.<. Eventually, my uncle gave me a worldpass and I made myself a Mithra. Yes, I myself am a man. Why did I choose to be a Manthra? Like most, dexterity. Also, it is visually soothing. No, not like a pervert! They just look better, especially in full RDM AF. Running around naked or in a subligar doesn't make me throw up a little. Also, I play in the same room as my grandpa. He sees me as some tall burly guy in a thong, yeah..

I have run into morons saying "OMG MANTHRA" and crap. I'd either ignore them or just say 'eeeew!'. My comment says "I'm a guy", but I'll change that to be more pro-manthra. My LS doesn't really care, neither does my uncle who has a Mithra mule. But my aunt did call me a cross-dresser. I have regretted being a Mithra, but when I hear that I will be great as a SAM/RNG/NIN, I started not caring. Sure, call me a manthra or pervert all you want. I'm hitting more than you.

And my closing statement, I have been hit on. I think one guy is now, a Galka, gave me some good equipment I couldn't afford. But most of my friends know I'm a man. I just hope I dont break off the friendship between me and him. He's probably the best tank in Khazam!

I have to say, I'm as equally confused by the people who are embarassed to play a male character (on the off chance that they may at some point or another have to wear a subligar) as I am by those who think there is something wrong with a guy playing a Mithra (or, god forbid, a female of another race). This is just a game folks. No one is going to think less of you if you play the strapping warrior, and no one with any sense is going to think less of you for playing as a cat girl.

I'm not sure what's worse. The comments about how there is something wrong with guys who play girl characters, or the comments expressing disgust or shame for playing a male one.

It's just pixels folks. If you have some sort of physical reaction to it, that's your own business. But let's try not to chat about it here, eh?
