The person who says it resets after 600 was obviously lying, the game was well into the 800s at least when it started. I beleive when I started it was in the 930s..

Due to the failure of SE to anticipate Y1K, all software was written using only the last two digits of the year. Thus, when the year dings 1000, all player gil will be reset to zero, inevitably resulting in an AH crash. Jeuno will be barren, and overrun with rabid tigers watering at the mouth in search of unsuspecting taru. Players will resort to scouring the post-apocalyptic wastelands of Vanadiel for food and shelter. Militias headed by warlords will spring up in the outer reaches of the world in the absence of government. These warlords will control all access to provisions and shelter as they battle to the death with eachother over territory. In time, the dominant warlord will control all of Vanadiel, and reign with an iron fist. Or.. 2.) We’ll have to deal with a few drunk and unruly moogles  Edited for spelling and format BST66
