360 rumor

I heard a rumor that u might not be able to run ffxi on 360. You need to like upgrade or something is this true?

I don't own a 360 and have done no research on the topic. But I believe you have to have the expensive, includes-everything-you'd-actually-want version and not the cheap, doesn't-include-anything-that-makes-it-an-xbox version. Other than that there's no reason it wouldn't work, and I think the hundreds of 360 players hanging out on our servers, the few dozen on these forums, and the fact that it's in the top ten Live games would indicate that rumor is... a rumor.

You absolutely need an HDD to play. Is that the only difference between the cheap 360 model and the expensive 360 model?

ya it is and the more expensive one comes with headset and one month xbox live. It a great purchase

No, there is some other stuff you get. You get extra cables and a wireless controller instead of a wired one but the HDD is the main extra item. The premium model is definetely worth it though.

You need to update the Xbox 360 once you attach the HDD, but other than FFXI updates that's all. It works perfectly for me.

Actually, both 360 packages come with 1 month of XBL Gold for free.

Search would of prevented this whole thread, TheGrandMom had already explained in quite good detail how the 360 version of FFXI operates and what you need to do for it to work.
