What is the average age of FFXI players?

okay I know I have to be the oldest player here..

I will be 44 in September and don't show any signs of not playing..My son is 20 and he only plays only Madden of fighting games every now and then.

The reason I asked I was in a party the other night in Bikiki Way and we stopped just for a moment because we where getting so much exp out there..

everyone was doing a great job, no deaths , no fighting just a great time leveling..

so I asked how old everyone was..

they where 14, 17, 20, 20, 23 and me 43..lol.. they were so amazed that I was 43 and still playing video games because they see me on all the time, but I was more amazed how well they did their jobs and how this game was able to keep thier interest( when they could be out in the streets doing anything)

how old are you ?.. ( I know the ladies hate that question )

I would love to see the average age of player playing FFXI....

The average is probably somewhere in the 20s. Personally, I'm 28. My LS runs the gamut from 14-37. So, I dunno.

My LS probably averages out early 20's also... (I am 21)

Now if I could only find people at or around my age who I can chat with and who know how to use their keyboards. That's harder than it sounds. :/

edit: I'd like to note that people far younger than I am could possibly find a lot in common with me. Age is in no way indicative of the maturity level of an individual, although there are certain subjects and concepts that someone far younger may not fully understand. However, that in no way means that they wouldn't be able to participate in conversation. I just want people I can talk to, damn it!

Well I am 18 and I can't get enough of the game. I am really tired of going out to parties because it is always the same drama. I enjoy getting on and playing with people all over the world. I don't really have a LS group so I don't know how old other people are.

Of all the people in the game that I know in actual life:
me = 24
my brother = 23
my friend = 26
my cousin = 16

I usually assume people that play tons and tons must be 18 and under. That's mainly based on how often I played "normal" video games 6-10 years ago. Kids that age that live with Maw & Paw have so much free time. I'm only 24, but I pretty much always assume that everyone in-game is at least a few years younger than me.

33 here and the official 'old fart' of my primary LS, although we've had an influx of new members so my title may be in jeapordy

an afterthought here, many younger players are amazed that I play, just remember us older players grew up in the arcades and bought the first console & computer games released....
and you had to spin the disk by hand..while holding ice to keep it cool...and had to walk 5 miles in a blizzard to get a copy of Pac Man...so don't complain to me about....

Me - I'm 32, and one of the 3 old farts in my ls, Sethe is right, they are about 20ish on average (though some act about 8).

I am 30 (31 this year ) and my RL friends who play are about the same.
I think the social aspects of this game make it appealing to young and older players.
