What's your pet peeve in FFXI?

I have no idea what agreement you are talking about but I wont be trying to get into beta. Got plenty of stuff to do in XI plus other games so XIV will have to wait, not to mention I'm still waiting to see if the new servers without old players will actually happen or not.

Speaking of peeves, did SE change Campaign mobs or something? They seem to have waaaay more HP than before for no good reason (Squeenix logic at work I guess) which is pretty annoying when you are the only freaking person helping the npcs defend and area.

i was doing campgain a few weeks ago (working on medals to get rose strap) and didnt notice any difference. infact mobs seemed to go down faster/easier...which makes sense being 24 lvls higher than before.

They do take more damage due to lvl difference, but they seem to have more HP too. I fought Campaign over and over again before quitting and I never capped Campaign points fighting only 1 mob back then.

But if there haven't been any changes it may be just my imagination. o_O

My luck with gold boxing KIs lately…in Altepa

Seriously… in Altepa of all places. There’s only TWO KIs that you can get there.
The past couple nights I’ve been farming there with about 3 others these are what the KI boxes look like

You know... after soloing all these WotG quests/missions (which was extremely fun) I'm not looking forward to Alduin anymore.

I mean, everything in that expansion will be lvl 99+ and mobs will be impossibly strong all over again and sneak/invis-ing around will be the way to move around, all over again. Which also means forced partying all over again. I hope I'm wrong but I'm not going to buy the expansion until the dust settles and specially if I can get the rest of the Brego set off the AH without having to actually buy the expansion because the rest of the set happens to be RA/EX. <_<;

I'm beginning to suspect the Linkshell I'm in has become a ghost town. Hopefully it's just one of those days and my one month absence didn't somehow cause it to dissolve.

I'd get the expansion when it comes out.
LEaving it a while is what I did with abyssea,
I didn't want to join abyssea before having a job at 75 and fully mertied, My thoughts behind it was I wanted to be as good as I could so I didn't hold people back.
At the time I was in two linkshells and the offer to go to abyssea never went my way at all.
All that happened was people worked through abyssea got their emf Af3 and quit shortly after.
I read forums religiously but didnt know about altepa dom ops until earlier this year or what key whoring meant.
I lacked cruor for keys due to not exploring. I missed zone wins nobody wants to repeat. I missed collecting atmas.
Plus factor in that both Ls were full of US players and I'm in the Uk. Even staying up till 5/6am in the hopes of doing stuff but nothing, Don't get me started on my rl job too lol.
So I'm even further behind.
Thankfully the Ls I'm in now does things, offers to help me asks me to help out. I'm not freinds with any of them offline either. Where my previous shells I made friends with them, added to Fb and kept in touch and with them I accomplished nothing.
It's a good thing I solo, I got a few atma behind me and I'm now one of those soloing zone wins and nms for seals for myself and others.

I used to say you need friends in this game, I retract that and replace it with you just need to know reliable hardworking people that don't flake out.

I'll be getting the expansion as soon as its on pre-order, I learn't the hard way letting everybody continue in fear of being a hinderance to the team/Ls. All it did was put me behind everyone and its not an experience I'd be willing to repeat.

I dont regret being in my previous shells at all, I met some lovely people. but when it came to it through the game's history with each expansion released I gradually got pushed back.

So it's definately not something I'd suggest you do speaking from personal experience.

FFXI has always been such that if you don't do something within like three months of it coming out, you're going to have a hell of a time ever doing it. Once most of the population has done something, it's a nightmare getting people to go back and do it again so that you can get your clear.

Getting stuff done in XI is just so painful people will not go back if they can avoid it.

Either way I already cancelled and might log on a few times before my time is up to try to hire a merc for Shinryu win, although that's not important at all considering the only thing I wanted was to get WotG and Apoc. Nigh done this time around, which I did.

If I can get Shin in these few days I'll be able to completely close the XI chapter of my life for good unless Alduin turns out to be so freaking awesome I feel like going back, but I sincerely doubt it.

Synergy. Holy crap.

I never liked the idea of it to begin with. (SE: "Hai guize you didn't ask us for a new craftingz so heer it iz!")

But I just now tried it for the first time. It's worse than I expected.

It's a horrible user interface of server-driven menus (aka lag-fest), where everything has a confirmation screen. Except "End Synergy", which is next to the check status item to make it easier to hit by accident. And the wiki page only tells you what the controls are, not what you're actually supposed to do with them, so I spent half an hour guessing.

Then I finally run out dark fewell because of using the safety lever so much. I thought it was only going to be 100 to replenish, but apparently it's 100 per fewell. Of which you can have up to 99 of each. So that'll be 26000 gil, please! (Which is apparently still cheaper than trading crystals at 1:1!) Lolwut?
