When I enter a product market, I think of it like being in a party. You're all there to earn as much as you can, and each person has as much opportunity to screw the the others as the next. If you do something crazy and tank the market, you just screwed a whole bunch of people out of time and effort that should have been fruitful. There's no rule against doing it, but it's professional courtesy not to do so just the same as it's professional courtesy not to wipe a party that isn't performing as well as you want. Everyone reaches their goals faster if we all play the game properly, in this case the price game.

And yes, it's good business to diversify and track multiple markets and whatnot to minimize your losses, but just because sh*t happens doesn't mean it should when it's entirely avoidable.

1) People who turn farming normal, every day, 5 minute respawning mobs into a claiming competition. You see me charge SA, stand behind the mob and draw my weapon, do you really need to spam voke on it just before I hit?

Usually when I encounter that, I return the favor one or two times then find somewhere else to go. It's very counter productive to fight over the claim on some crap ass leech.

2) Sushi eaters in the dunes/qufim/jungles/pre 40 lvls. Just because you missed the mob once doesn't not mean you have crap Acc. And seeing as you're doing single digit dmg, it's better to up your att then waste food on something that's a placebo at best.

And the corollary to this:

Over hunting. I don't care if that one mob gave us 200 exp, it took 5 minutes to kill it. I should NOT be able to use Warcry twice in one fight. Low IT - VT mobs only plz.

3) Pts that don't listen to what's best for them. There's three IT mobs chewin your tanks face apart, when you're told to zone, you zone. Don't stand there looking like a tool with a thumb up your ass, run you dolt run.

4) /nin onry people. Seriously, /nin is NOT the end all be all of subs. Every time I see a /nin in the dunes, it makes me want to stab someone in the spleen >=(


As for the undercutting thing. I do that, a lot. When I put my items up for sale, I want them to sell. 1-2k can be the difference between making a fast easy profit, or sitting on a stack of crappy items for 2 weeks. Sure I'd like to sell it for as much as possible, but I'd rather get rid of it asap so I can sell a brand new item in it's place.

When one item starts selling for a lot of cash, people will notice and attempt to flood the market with that item. Doing that causes that market to dive and others to rise. That's the way things work, just gotta keep an eye on the fluxes and hope everything works out fine.

Equally annoying is the one wuss who screams zone and dashes off at the first sign of trouble, no matter how well the party has handled every other link it's been presented with. We slept the last five until we were ready to deal with them, we're going to sleep this one, too.

13) Do not run away when you have hate! And when the pt tells you not to run don't say "I was kiting the sucker!" because kiting does not involve running in a straight line to the zone!!!

I don't see that as much as the other, hence why it's not a pet peeve.

In my last PT I was in KRT right by the exit to the low lvl area killing bats. Pt was War/nin(Me), Rng/nin, Pld, Smn, Rdm, Brd. Kills were SLOOOOOOOOOOW and the mobs were way too high for the DDs, but the support team was more then enough to keep everyone alive. But because the Rng had to go deep into the tunnel to pull we'd often get links that popped after she attacked her target. So while the Pld would voke and tank one, I'd voke the other and go back to meleeing the first bat while the Brd+Rdm tried sleeping it.

With all that refresh goin 'round we did pretty well, where the only death happened from when the Pld went AFK mid fight. A fully gear DD war fighting things way too high to be fighting won't last long as a tank down there O.<

OH! Speaking of my last pt

5) Exp pts where the mages are two+ lvls higher then the highest melees. In an Exp pt the tank and DDs should be higher in lvls as they're the ones going directly against the mobs. When the mages are the highest lvls, it makes it harder to get good exp because the mages struggle more to kill higher stuff so everyone gets a decent exp/kill rate.

They were all good players mind you, just the set up was a bit wonky =/

No my "humor dectector" is just fine thank you. Just because its different from yours doesn't mean that there is something wrong with it.


Which reminds me:

14) People who get annoyed if you are having fun in the pt. I'm not talking about fun at the expense of doing your job well either, I'm just talking about friendly banter and such when you have time for it. You'll get somone that goes {Focus}! on occasion just for having a chat with someone. If the pt is running smoothly, the exp is flowing, and all is well in Vana'diel, there is nothing wrong with talking to your fellow pt members.
