Went home to test out my new staff as Mnk/Smn (since you need carby). Went to Abyssea and got a few hits off. Light proc was kinda cool. Out of like 10 swings it proc’d almost every time between 30-90 additional damage.

Anyway…didn’t know a maintenance was coming and don’t recall seeing a message about it…but I got booted from ffxi. So now when I get come home from work, I have to find something else to do instead of amber farm.

That was my general experience as well on Valefor. Is there no one in the linkshell that can assist with this? I ask because you're not going to be able to solo your Briareus Helms and Sobek Skins--so I'd imagine the same people who would be helping you with those should help you with your VNM's. Of course, that's a huge presumption on my end--you could simply merc all your 50 helms and skins...not that I've seen any merc's on Valefor >_>

I used to Merc with my WHM when I had a brief return to the game last year, but I got sick of people "accidentally" using a warp cudgel before paying up the rest of the gil owed to me when doing a % up front deal. And people get a bit peevish when you demand full payment up front.

Contemplating selling off all my Alex and throwing the idea of a mythic out

As of current day I’m still…
100/100 Nyzule
17/100 assaults
3/4 Salvage bosses (which I can easily finish, I’ve just been doing SSR runs for alex)
Wing 1 of Einherjar (no where near Odin)
43k/150k Nyzul Tokens
2k/100k Ichor
4k/30k Alex
0/3 Bosses (never camped though)
0/3 ZNM items (never camped though)

Mythic isnt hard to do, just god awful time consuming and many events that require 3-6 people for entry purposes.

Barely getting to do salvage more than once a week. Partly because of work and partly because the peeps that get me in aren’t always around.

I can’t remember the last time I did Assaults/Einherjar. Which to be honest, I think are my 2 major road blocks.
I’ve done a couple Nyzul Isle runs that netted me ~4k tokens a tag, So I’m not too concerned about tokens. I know plenty of people (myself included) who still need mythic weapons/skills.

While getting Alex is a pain, I don’t find it to be the hardest part. I’m still farming Salvage but I’ve slowed down actually buying cheap alex. Until shit starts happening with Assault/Einherjar.

I talked to a friend whose going to try to get me in Einherjar and Assaults runs. Holding off for now on selling everything. Not sure what this salvage update will do for Alex pricing. I don’t want to back out but I’m barley making progression here…

Backing out today would get me some nice pocket change

If those are your reasons for backing out, don't. If it really came down to it I'd transfer just to participate in those events with you. I still havent given up on the idea of a Mythic completely myself. I'm equally as far in on Assaults as you, I completes all 3 zone bosses, I'm 1/4 Salvage wins, 2nd wing of Einherjar and have almost half the Nyzul tokens I need.

We're at about the same point... but in different ways. If we could equalize eachother out and work together we could probably find a few days a week to cooperate and get this train back on the rails.

A partner would be helpful. Rooks always there for me too but I hate eating up his time if he’s got something else in mind to do.
We’d have to plan (on here maybe) when to go on events though. hard to make set plans too in advance because my work schedule fluctuates.

Im on almost every week night at some point or another though.

I’m not quitting it just yet…if things can even mildly turn around, I’m back in!

And I’m def. still game for limbus/dynamis stuff with ya

Its on. I just want to try and get Hayde to come with me first. He's been with me ever since I started playing again and I'd hate to not have him on my server. We hardly do anything together anymore but the fact of the matter remains that he's my favorite person to play with.
