What's your pet peeve in FFXI?

I'm beginning to suspect FFXI is intentionally trying to stop me from making progress on acquiring Almace.

Edit: I don't understand why it takes ages (longest three hours) for the Abyssite to become colourful, but three two one to four battles to become {colour}.

Stupid true sight imps in Cadaerva Mines and fumbles with Spectral Jig when I finally get past them and into the A-Reef (Not even attempting to recall the name as I'll ruin it) slowing my progress on my AF pieces insanely. All I want is my three-point hat dammit!

That area alone is one giant middle finger to stealth. It's a pain in the arse to navigate even at 99 because the Imps still aggro you at that level for some insane reason.

That was a peeve of mine too. The first time, it took me 43 kills to get the T1 to change to T2, then one kill to change to T3.

The best option is to keep the colored Abyssite from each zone and never use it. Doing this makes it a little harder to track a Tier 2, but on the flip side... your Colorful will never change colors again.

IIRC:
Feint light = T1
Soft light = T2
Strong light = T3

While hunting a T2, avoid the strong lights and move away from them whenever possible. Stick to the ares known for Tier 2's and it won't be too much trouble.

I know I have at least 7 or so Colored Abyssites. I've been meaning to use them to get the Atmas for their respective VNMs, but I haven't had the time nor the interest. Ogopogo has a pair of H2H that I want for my PUP, but that's really it. Colorless souls I can sell off I suppose too... but I digress.

Keep your color, hunt with colorful. that is all.

to whom it may concern...and you probably already know this but just incase. You can’t upgrade a clear (t1) to a colorful(t2) inside abyssea then pop a t2 outside abyssea as they are separate abyssites. Just thought i'd note that since squiggs and Nestama were referring to ToM Empy vnms and Yyg dropped an Abyssea vnm in there.

@Yyg -Unfortunately that h2h from Ogopogo is no longer that great. At one point it was better than Mythic/Empy but that was because the regain was so broken on it. For a while it was giving 10tp/tic to the Auto and rng frames could spam Armor Pierecer every 20 seconds or so. But it has been adjusted/fixed to 1tp/tic…you’d probably see better results with some of the 90+ AH ones..

It does have an Empy I could solo if needed. I still wanna try it one day but I think I’m going focus on getting shit done for the time being and eventually work on Rune Fencer

Zoning into La Theine Plateau for merits last night. Found a small group, then got miffed to find out it was someone fucking botting. How is this even possible? My suspicions were confirmed when I /tell bombed them. Any normal person would give a response, but then again /blacklist "name" add can be used upon anyone in an instant. Threw a party flag up in hopes of getting in. There was another guy there as well, he was alive and responsive and confirmed the person was botting, the real kicker is he was Trio-Boxing while botting? Is this even possible?

I'm confused. exactly 'how' are they botting in abyssea?

I thought bots are used for claiming (not much to claim there) or fishing.

That's what I'd like to know myself. The guy I was partied with, Cambot (Lol) was running THF 99 and I guess he was meriting. The other guy was a Galka and had 2 Taru's running with him. One was 99 WHM other was 99 SCH and the Galka was 99 MNK pulling off Shijin Spiral's every few seconds or so, if I see it again I'll try to capture it with Fraps or something. It just irritated me. But I am now keying in a FC party on DNC at the moment. So I am quite content. I had brought THF up to 95 so DNC won't get skillburned in the process, evasion is capped. Only really need to cap dagger and begin on Empy at this point. Got lucky in Attowha (or however you spell it) and got it on a drop.
