I loved how he states his level, then takes it back like level doesn't matter XD.

My pet peeve? Summoners who don't have all their avatars. I don't mean the difficult ones like Fenrir and Diabolos, I mean the ones you can solo at elvel 20. While it's not a big issue at level 19-, at level 46+ you should have all those basic avatars. End of story. I had to kick a Summoner today because he said he didn't have any other avatars besides Carby, and I invited one who had the elemental avatars with him. If I have to take time to Refresh everyone and farm gil to buy all my new scrolls(which are costing me 15-25k a pop at this level), you're gonna go and get those avatars or not pt with me. Nuff said.

And Aksanny just get Spider Torque, 2 Enfeebling skill won't make that huge of a difference IMO <_<

It just burns my chops that I can drop ~200k on leveling war from 30 to 37, abut the whm can't drop, what, 40k for erase.... Ugh.

When I first started playing I was a WAR.. got to 27 and realized i needed to make some money FAST. SO I started playing White Mage for the teles...

I liked it so much, I stuck with it and it's my first job to 75. WAR is still at 33 - I can't stand playing it.

And Erase was 600k when I reached the point I could use it. So I got it thru BCNM and then got another three to sell. That was good times heh..

OK I'll be honest, I didn't read this whole thread because it's like 52 pages now, so I don't really know if this has been said before or not. I'm going to say it anyway though, because it REALLY aggravates me.

My pet peeve? WHMs without a light staff. After level 55.

I'm SO not an elitest when it comes to gear. You want to level WAR but you don't have enough gil to buy a haubergeon? NIN and you can't afford a SH? I don't care. I'm fine with it. Just please buy a cheap body piece if you're a WAR and don't use your AF, because you'll be driving the tank insane with your +8 enmity. Eat some good food and do your best. I don't really care what you're wearing as long as you're trying.

But there's no excuse for a WHM not to have a light staff. Unlike BLM and SMN, they don't need the full array of staves. They just need light and dark. A light staff goes for about 50k on Ramuh right now. I realize the economy went south, but two stacks of silk thread will get you a light staff. Who can't farm crawlers for two hours at SOME point between level 1 and level 55?

There are very, very, very few pieces of equipment in the game that I feel are "must-haves." White mage. Light staff. Must have. OK, so you hit 51 when you weren't really expecting to and you don't have one. I can understand that. Or you decided to buy a dark staff first and now you're broke. I'll give you that one too. I figure you got a couple of levels of leeway before it becomes a major offense. But lately, I've been PTing with all these level 55+ WHMs without one. Last week I PTed with a level 64 WHM who didn't have one. As a BRD, I was curing for 209 HP while he cured for 193. End result, it cost him about 10% more MP to keep the PT alive than it should have.

I really don't have a pet peeve, but yesterday (my first day at the Dunes) I got to experience the frustration one can get with a party. It just seems to me that noone wants to be in charge at any time, noone says a word, noone pulls, nothing happens. And this happens alot. And the time it takes to get a party together is pretty long aswell, which can also be frustrating.

I think we're all secretly hoping a mass of players will come along, leveling these jobs, saying "I love support! I could do it all day!" Allowing us all to play our happy little offensive roles without having to roll up our sleeves and play the more boring ones.

Of course, if you hate BRD, and just level it for the benefits it provides, you'll be derided just as much for playing it for "the wrong" reasons.

Of the four you'd categorize as "boring," I'd only consider WHM and RDM amoung them, they just get too repetitive in EXP, almost puts me to sleep. COR and BRD are more active and exciting, always in the mix of everything.

However, BRDs and CORs would be a lot better off if BRDs weren't all "zomgpullpullpull" and CORs weren't exclusivly "zomgDD" CORs. BRDs can sub WHM and do full support, its not as good for COR to do so, but possible.

CORs sure as hell can pull at merit PT level, they get the lowest delay gun in the game and Light Shot, they can set up fights just like a BRD and Light Shot sees fewer resists than Lullaby. We're better hands-down the Greater Colibri camp, Light Shot can't be reflected.

But no, they look at the DMG on Peacemaker and scurry back to thier 600 delay Martial Gun and get outclassed in their DoT and DD by a wide margin.

Oh well, I get more merits per session than they do. /shrug

Level it for merits, fine.

Level it to get in an HNM and always come to camp as a DD = Misleading. Don't level BRD if you're going for a hetacomb set on your THF and have no intention of improving BRD. Don't bid on Osodes if you have a BRD, but never play it and no other job you have can use it.

No. Because it doesn't matter what everyone else is doing. You're not the arbiter of what is or isn't the right reasons to level a job. No one is but the person leveling that character.
