Got Bodb's Robe tonight on our first Salvage run, leaving me just a 15 short of being able to collect Morrigan's Robe in the morning, with our second run being for the 15, which is a 100% drop off the mob that drops it.


15 minutes in a pull gets botched and we wipe, with nobody having RR up.


Guess I get to wait a few days...

Why doesn't your first mage bring a scroll of RR or something? Our RDM always had one. FAIL!

Pet peeve: billing issues, the new SE "Fraud protection" thing flagged my account because I've changed credit cards often ... sometimes to that of my mom's or my dad's, and it looks shady to them. I can't help that I have been broke a lot. I am a single mother and college student, after all.

So I called them and they said they'd escalate the issue. Well that doesn't help me log in any sooner. Basically, they have to investigate the account, make sure that the cards all match. Almost all of them are in my own name, and the two from my mom and my dad both have the same last name which I mentioned was my maiden name. So I'm hoping that SE will recognize that this is not a case of fraud but really a person who sometimes needs to find a card with space to pay for her accounts.

So my pet peeve is the fact that SE fails to recognize this. It would be one thing if all the cards had different names and the addresses were not all from relatively the same geographic location, but up until the past year all of my dealings should have been from Northwestern PA. It shouldn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out. I had two cards that I switched between most of the time, with a borrow from my dad once and a borrow from my mother twice.

/Sigh. No playing for me for two days. Gonna play more WoW. Level 73 now!

New Peeve: WTF has happened to parties, Ive not partied for a while mainly cause no one invites blue mages past 66 for some reason so now I've hit 75 on it I'm focussing on merits so jumped back on sam.

Lfp in WG so I can jump on any mission shouts I see that sound good. 1st party invite leader wont tell us which camp, invited us to party and at 5/6 says ok whos got a bard 75 and gets pissy when no one does. I should have left right then but thought ok lets try it. he kicked out whm and invited a rdm that came with a brd. We head out to the bird camp and I know theres at least one party there cause my friend is in it.

Our wierd leader warps from WG to Nyzul isle about 4-5 times so we leave withough him and tell him to move his ass. Get to camp 3 parties in the zone so I'm like lets go somewhere else. Nope they move out to the zone and go camp on my friends party. They they pull a wyvre for fun. I said we either move or Im off. Before all this the Rdm dies walking to camp and the ldr zones between the camp and nyzul isle 4-5 times.

I finally convince them to go to mamol ja sp, the rdm says hes not got the IS (bs imo) the brd says if the rdm goes I'm off. so we disdand. Then the brain dead leader /tell me help me warp out (sam/nin how am i supposed to do that) he says warp cudgel, I lol and warp out very annoyed at the whole experience

2nd party invite just about to warp "oh never mind were disbanding lol" I didnt lol.

3rd party invite I wasnt confident in it but oh well. joined at 5/6 2 people dropped soon as besieged starts. get 6/6 our smn doesnt have mamol ja staging point so drops. Get to camp, puller pulls 3 VT-IT I get pulled back through the zone and killed, "sorry you died" just doesnt cut it. next pull same think I made sure I zoned 1st this time soon as he linked I was off to that zone. then the war leaves. I nearly quit the party.

We get 6/6 eventually and start killing ended bout 30 minutes later. 3 parties and I got about 5-6k xp, pathetic

Sounds normal for pickup groups; there are good parties, there are bad parties, and the average is just south of ho-hum.

I'm not sure if Playonline now checks credit cards when they are entered, but I know when my account was stolen last year, SE just allowed them to enter a series of letters and numbers as the credit card number...You'd think it would've checked to see if it was valid at the time it was entered and then flagged the account via the credit card but no it doesn't >_>.

If thats normal for parties I can make faster xp in campaign these were supposed to be merit parties. 6k is not acceptable for a merit party, doesnt even qualify as a bad party is awful. What happened to the 20k per hour meripos Ive heard about but never seen. 300+ chains, Ive never got past chain 45 at best and that was lucky

I actually am the main mage for our 2nd runs, it was my fault for not putting it up, generally the first floor of SSR is hell on me healing and I don't have enough MP to put it up until right before the Hammerblow pull, and I just kinda spaced, likely was just too excited at the prospect of waking up to my robe today.

This will be my 2nd completed Salvage piece, and ironically the first one I was also stuck sitting on 25/35/mats and waiting on the 15 for a week or two.

To add insult to injury one of the DDs d/c'd right on the pull when we were doing RvB and we wiped so I lost a tag's worth of points and had to eat a 2nd homepoint.

If you read the first sentence you will know that I wasn't generalising THFs, just the ones that insist on setting up SATA then wait on TP regardless of how much they have. Also if you read the last part of my post you'll realise that I mentioned SAMs because it's mostly SAMs that do that crap.

When you were talking about that THF that seemed to be doing their level best to kill the TA partner, you forgot to mention that if they somehow survive all that, the THF will pull another mob right away and not give people a chance to recover...

Oh, and I'm levelling SAM now and often hop over the hate line myself. I do, however, try to be somewhat sane about things. If I'm going to rip hate away from the PLD with Meditate-Penta-Penta, I'm going to use Seigan/3rd eye before at LEAST the second and stand behind the PLD for easy Cover. Then, if 3rd eye is still up, I'm willing to play peekaboo with the PLD's cover effect to make best use of it (why should the PLD take a hit that I'd avoid?)

You should have seen the PT I had yesterday, now THAT was awkward! We were on birds, and the PT was RNG-RNG-DRK-WAR-SAM-RDM (plus PL). The RNG did their best to stay at their best range to the mob, so were widely seperated, and the rest of us just had to play "follow the bouncing mob". If I ever get into a PT like that again, I'm going to switch to SAM/RNG and SHOOT the darn thing (after I get my archery skilled up)! That, or offer to switch to PLD...

Dunno if it's even remotely the same thing or not, but I had issues with PoL taking my new credit card as well. I got a new computer at the time my old card expired, so was installing FFXI on the new one. If I remember correctly, I had to call the credit card company and tell them that FFXI was not some foreign evildoer trying to steal my money.

No, it's actually an LM-17. Because I've changed cards often. Retarded, I know. There's a thread about it on BG, in Standard, if you're interested.

I'm basically annoyed with them. I'm missing T2 of Einherjar tonight, so I have to use a mark (we get 3 in 45 days) and that means I'm missing Odin next week, which means I have to use another mark. I'm hoping CK will let me use his account for Dynamis tomorrow because frankly I can't afford to use all these marks. I got no e-mail, no contact, nothing, just an inability to access my account, and watch my attendance suffer, and all the guy could tell me was, "We'll contact you in 48 hours."

A related peeve....

It's really annoying that SE takes down the registration server every month at the same time they bill you. If you changed credit cards and entered something wrong, you can't fix it for a couple of days until the registration server is back up. And if you screw up and have insufficient funds at the time of billing or for whatever reason the charge doesn't go through, you're forever screwed with that card number. And, of course since the registration server is down at the time of billing, you can't fix it for a couple of days.

It really sucks that if you make a mistake with your billing, you will be locked out for a couple of days. It's almost as if they are doing it deliberately to force people to make sure things are perfect before they try to bill. Anywhere else, if your card doesn't go through for whatever reason, you can fix the problem and have them re-run it and continue to use the same card number.

In my LS, the policy is that everyone uses a Reraise item for Salvage.

You can use a Reraise Earring/Hairpin/Gorget before you enter, and the Reraise effect stays when you enter. Or, use a scroll or (Hi-)Reraiser after you enter (if used before enter, these one-shot items' RR effect will not stay).

I know they're related.
My peeve is that they always take that server down at the start of the month when they process payments, so if you're payment glitches, then you are screwed for 1 or 2 days until they bring the server back up.
