Haha, I just made an almighty blunder in Nyzul Isle.

We got this crappy floor setup where we had to light lamps in order and there were soulflayers and imps. Through much goading, we went and killed any that were near lamps. The BRD had to be instructed several times to Finale the Soulflayers. Then it came time to light lamps and the BRD clearly didn't know how to do it, but he would stay say things like "All of you light at :40" (order remember). I was worried he was going to confuse people.

So even though it was considered a loss, we decided to do one more floor for tokens at least. Kill all targets. BRD didn't Ballad me. That's ok. To be honest, I didn't really notice MP troubles anyway. What I did notice though was he still wasn't Finaleing stuff or spending his idle time pulling.

Here comes the blunder. Just as we're leaving. I meant to say in LS, "This BRD sucks." Only, the way it came out was decidedly non-LS. Long story short, things became awkward and I got blacklisted by the BRD. I know, it probably wasn't very nice of me to gossip to the LS. But I hardly ever have MT stories like this...

THFs that insist on waiting on TP before they SATA you. They don't wait until they have SA and TA up before using it they have to wait for TP for their epeen. They don't care if the TA partner's shadows are down, they don't care that the TA partner is in the red, they don't care that me and the healer are now out of MP keeping the TA partner alive, they don't care that when they do finally TA the mob is either dead so there's no point in me using spike hate JAs on the mob or the TA partner has built up so much hate not even my bloody 2 hour will take hate from them.

It annoys me because what is the point of setting up SATA if you're not going to use it at the start of a fight?. It makes as much sense as a RDM converting at full MP or me hitting Sentinel when the mob has just died or a BST using Snarl before they even get on a mob's hate list. I mean FFS you are getting a hate free epeen hit anyway regardless of if you're stacking a WS with it. I'm not going to have trouble keeping hate without your SATA anyway since I have lots of +Emnity gear and +Acc and +Attack gear as well as five different ways of producing spike hate (PLD58). The only thing you are doing is annoying the hell out of the entire party by preventing the PLD from building up hate and wasting all of the healer's MP which in turn annoys the other DDs because they can't do their epeen damage. Seriously, SATA me at the start of the fight or don't bother at all .

While I'm off on a rant: SAMs. For the sake of my sanity don't WS at the start of the fight unless the puller just brought in an epic train of dewm. Others DDs do this too but SAMs are definitely the most guilty. I mean you could at least wait until I've engage, voked and flashed a mob. I know that the process takes a whole 3 seconds but you have the be patient and wait unless you want the healer to have MP. Bonus points if we have just one link and the DD just went and WS'd the one the party just slept

While I agree with most of this, please dont be SO general as if ALL people playing SAM or THF do this ok? You're mad, ok yes, but guess what, deal with it! I was also a PLD at your level, I was also a SAM at your level, not all of us do this shit You make it seem like EVERY SAM out there is trigger happy.

You do realise I feel the same when people generalise all WHMs right? I'll stop generalising pickup DDs when people stop generalising WHMs.

If you read the first sentence you will know that I wasn't generalising THFs, just the ones that insist on setting up SATA then wait on TP regardless of how much they have. Also if you read the last part of my post you'll realise that I mentioned SAMs because it's mostly SAMs that do that crap.

Generalising WHMs how exactly??? Theyre the best healers hands down IMO. And umm, gee, guess you never read the post of the RNG who pulled with Barrage and would Sidewinder from the start of the fight? ALL DDs do this at some point, until they are taught a lesson and are allowed to die a few times for their incompetence.

11. I've never played Warrior before ( . . . lolPLD38), but any new Warriors I meet I generally pass on the information of how awesome Shield Break and Acid Bolts are (courtesy of Armando, natch). One of them has reached 75 by now (although she's now leveling some more subjobs than /MNK), and we are great friends, her still appreciating the advice that she has learned to be invaluable to a new Warrior. (Interestingly enough, she's also the only German-speaking person I really know, and has joked about possibly being the only German person on the entire server.) Just because you haven't leveled something yourself doesn't mean you can't have any secondhand knowledge of how it may work. Also note that your own advice should probably be taken by you, as I'm pretty sure people are sick of you telling them how to play and insisting that it's the "right" way, and then again there may also be people who are only interested in giving you potentially genuinely useful advice that you may follow at your own discretion.

Ok so I've been reading over some stuff and yea I'm not a regular poster with this forum, but that's only bc I haven't had anything to say and just like reading, regarding the trust thing, honestly I don't care, I just like opinions and stuff saying you don't trust me is something that can be easily brushed off unless your on the same server and seen how I operate in the game.

In this post I pretty much was ranting, had to get it off my chest if I wanted to concentrate better with the game, so take it how you like.

I don't think you understood what I meant by saying they don't want to bother listening, I am by no means an (I'm right, your wrong person). I'm always wrong most of the time bc I don't play as much as others and I've come to accept that. I also don't know everything just everything about DRG AF HEAD fight bc I've done it 17 times >.> in the course of 5 hours ; ;

Something I just had to touch on also was the fact that you assume I tell people how to play (the right way) I am the person who tell people who tell other people to play (right way) to go screw themselves and let them learn, which is why my LS looks up to me bc I am not biased whatsoever when it comes to playing the game. I am generally the one of maybe 4 or 5 people in the LS who are understanding about other's ability to do something or not.

Umm as for me being one walking giant peeve myself (never heard that one before) The only people that are sick of me is the ones that demand everyone to play a certain way and not adjust from it (even then there's only like 3 people in this category but I'm cool with them now). You think your describing me but in all actuality your describing the very thing I dislike among some players. I can't think of anyone who actually finds me annoying except the one girl who sent me a pic of her and I honestly gave her a 4/10 (she wanted me to be honest).

If you want to know what kind of person I am,

1. I'm the person who answers that shout in Jueno, WG, etc for someone who needs help with a quest, mission, WSNM, blah blah blah
2. I'm the person who randomly drops whatever I am doing to help someone else bc I know how being alone in this game can feel
3. I'm the person that others can play the way they want around me because it's all about having fun in my opinion.
4. I'm the person who since I can't make ENDGAME scenarios, make my ENDGAME of FFXI to help others achieve ENDGAME status, Rank 10, blah blah blah.

So I'm not one to apologized if someone took something the wrong way bc of how it was wording and stuff, but you are putting me in the wrong category of what you described in your post. If you feel otherwise then bah there's nothing I can do.


Also to add to the strategy thing, sometimes what you know is generally a good way to go, like my DRG MAAT fight post I put on FFXIwiki (beat him in 1 min 4 sec) someone tried it and it didn't work, honest I don't know what happened he had better gear than me so eh it might just be a panic thing, but who knows.

I've been playing all kinds of RPGs for 19+ years now so forgive me if I come off a bit extreme about strategy in this game.

Hey, when I played as SAM, I did that at first. But then I died twice, and leanred not to do it, after being yelled at by the entire party, not to do it, and the WHM was refusing to raise me too, but I was new to the game, and I didn't really know what the actual damage of a samurais WS actually did, and the hate spike.

But then when I was able to use Tach: Gekko, and Sekkinoki. I was doing induration skill chains (Tachi: Gekko -> Tachi: Yukikaze), and I'd steal hate off the tank due to the damage due to the SC, and that was when the mob was at 1/2 Hp as well. And I would get yelled at by the tank that I did too much damage. Seriously... If you want the monster to fall fast, obviously the DDs are going to take teh hate off you, even if they do take the precations. Hell, I'd take off Berserk, and put up Seigan+third eye until the tank got hate back, and I took no damage. I don't see the point in getting mad, if you take no damage, but when some one does it first, and the tank cant get the hate back then I can see yelling at the person.

Its not just Melee DDs that do this. Mages do this too. They nuke once, and they happen to land a good unresisted nuke, and its near the beggining of the fight (But its after the tank has hate, and the mob is at like 4/5 Hp), and tehy get yelled at for doing their damn job! You cant control when you will land an unresisted nuke, and what not.

If you invite DDs, don't yell at them for doing their job, and they pull hate off you, especially if they land a few crits before the tank has good hate. DDs cant control their chance of landing a crit, or hen they will land a good nuke. Lay off the DDs if they pull hate off the tank.

And Tanks are guilty of this too. I have had good tanks, and bad tanks. I've had plds that refuese to provoke, or even cure themselves, even when teh whm is low on Mp. Or Ninjas that don't even try to put up their shadows when they fall. And even the blu tanks are like this too. They don't do any cocoon, or any other damage mitigation abilities.

It's silly to complain about your job being generalized about in a negative way when, in general, most people playing your job really do things the wrong way. You may be an exception, ok, that's cool. But your peers still suck and there's no reason to get offended over someone telling the truth about the general state of your peers.

Actually most people playing this game suck as far as I can tell. The WARs don't use Great Axe, those that do don't use Shield Break. The WHMs don't Flash. The THFs don't gear swap, don't properly manage their SATA or are just too slow at it. The DDs push their hate in the most asinine of ways, don't take the appropriate defensive measures after they do, and also don't take advantage of their tank's hate tools (SENTINEL = OVERKILL TIME GO.) The PLDs don't know how to do anything beyond go 100% turtle mode. The NINs are often too turtly as well, even though their job needs the offense even more than PLD. I could go on and on. We all know some dude and some other chick that do things right, but for each of those dudes you know there's at least 100 others running around on the server that very instant doing things very wrongly.

If someone told me "most PLDs suck" I wouldn't get mad, I'd just sigh and agree.

I'd just got back to WG after my first non nyzul assault and saw a shoud for this mission at 5/6 , I was made up joined immediately, Checked the party no blm, my heart sank. I was on blue mage and they asked me to change to sam so I go gear change, some one DCs. warped to TS, they ask me to go blu again so I could stun the dragon. I facepalmed.

Told the leader to go read the wiki on the mission, hes immunt to stun. the dc guy comes back. so our party is sam (me) pld, nin, cor, brd, whm/sch. Its only when we get to the BC I realise I'm the only friggin DD. I warned them many times we were all gonna die but i wanted the win so I went along. (I did pat the dirt and said see you soon when we entered tho in emote)

Start the fight and yes it was a joke. got him to about 80% and Im watching the mp bard drop to zero and thinking here it comes. boom pld drops and stays dead, ninja takes over ninja drops, I'm shouting at them to sleep the mob so the pld tanks can get up. light shot sleep. both the tanks rest infront of the mob. both tanks die 3 times before weakened wears, im just stood there out the way thinking I knew this was gonna happen, I even sat down waiting for the inevitable dragon lols at light shot and lulliby and eats the brd and corsair. They it happens and I call an end to the debacle and tell every one to sun for the exit.

Oh yea and cause the ldr was so confident we were gonna win we didnt have enough MM for a second try cause we used em all on the failed run. I hate this fight.

At the end the ldr /tells me and says hes gonna try again tonight and try and get 3 blm like I told him to so fingers crossed Ill have this done soon

I usually only do BLM burns for that fight purely because it's easier to get 2 other BLMs who know to follow simple instructions while the others just sit there and voke than it is to get a whole party of people who can listen to simple instructions.

I was told that when I was the ldr trying to set up the run first time I did it. we got pwned then too cause we only had 1 blm. I said after that I was gonna hire 3 blm and go freeze it but the pcik up group was just as I zoned in so I jumped on it. I didnt expect to win so I wasnt suprised or angry like I was the 1st time. Hopefully Ill be able to get the win tonight if we can find the BLM
