It's just one of those days. It's only Day 2 Fafnir so it doesn't matter as much as a Nid day, but still. Everyone is just offline or AFK or whatever, and I'm just bored out of my skull.

MMOs are a lot of fun, but a huge part of that is dependent on others being around to play with you.

1) I don't mind if at least 1/3 of the people involved keep their cool. It makes me laugh at the other 2/3's and everyone can use a good laugh. LOL But when I see long time veterans acting like nublets and everyone going down, ya that will tick you off. I don't mind dying in game at all for events but if I'm dying over stupidity, I get a little cranky. lol

2) Yes....this irritates me beyond belief. I don't have all the shinies because I can't stay on 13 hours a day thank you very much. When I am on though I devote QUALITY time to whatever I'm doing and not pay 1/2 attention because I'm playing PSP/watching TV/watching porn/wtfe. (Fyi, I was told wtfe means what the f??k ever.) So usually that makes me a better player than someone with all the god damn shinies anyways! My family, my health, and everything on this side of the computer screen comes before FFXI. If someone can't deal with that, then I would suggest they make an appointment with a therapist......PM me, I know quite a few good ones! LOL

Pet peeve: FFXIClopedia having absolutely no info on the relative Defense or Evasion on Omega/Ultima weapon.

It took me all of 1 dry run to figure out that Omega can't evade to save his life, even without food or Aggressor. This is kind of important, because it means you get absolutely 0 benefits from popping sushi, the default food for any DD. No one in the right mind would want to fight foodless on such a hard mission.

Also mislabels Rear Laser because it doesn't do damage, and it fails to mention that it's AoE.

EDIT: Nobody ever mentioned it can Counter either ><

Sorry but no, I'm not going to stay for another 2 hours and miss my train because someone wants their 75. Especially when they just dinged 74 and we are fighting lolibri.

Ya when I'm in a pt and I know I'm leaving, I give AT LEAST a 30 minute warning. I say in /t to the leader that I'm leaving in 30 mins and I say it in party chat too. Everyone knows. If I get the usual response "Well make sure you have a replacement.", I tell them "I will certainly search for a replacement but if I can't find one after 30 minutes, I will be leaving anyways so please realize this." Now if they don't tell me to search for a replacement because they are going to do it, I make sure to tell them that I can not stay any longer than 30 minutes and will be leaving promptly. I also give them warning /t's at 20 mins and 10 mins both via pt chat and /t's to the leader. In other words, I'm a pest. LOL

Of course promies still suck more, what with not being able to cast reraise until next week's update, but where else other than CoP do you find regular (not BC) zones with level caps?

I mean, I'm sure I can guess what someone was thinking. He was thinking "I want to encourage people to form groups and work together" by making impossible to just blow through there with a solo 75. Too bad he failed by making it so damn hard.

Level cap. No monsters (that matter) that check less than VT with the cap on. True Sight monsters, placed in front of important doors. Monsters that fight as party groups. The only job that can really solo in there is BST, and that's because of all the charmable VT mobs. Promies and Aqueduct are such a pain in the butt that nobody really wants to go back through earlier missions for others unless they have to. So instead of getting people grouping up to help each other out, you get veterans avoiding the early missions, meaning that new people have to depend on other new people, which usually ends in wipes.

I was just in a subligar farming party (I was hoping to get the map because the WHM item sucks and I already have that subligar anyhow), and we kept getting aggro (and sometimes KOs) due to stegos turning at the wrong moment, and wipes to IT Fomor trios. A full party of six, though most of us were not on our "usual" jobs. We even tried Minotaur for someone who needed it and wiped. Thanks to Draw In, there was really no chance of being able to recover from a wipe. Only three of us had even set our home point at Tavnazia. One aggrivating delay after another. And we got nothing to show for it, other than four hours lost time, some XP loss, and a couple of beastmen seals.

So I decide to try getting the map solo. I know it's really hard to solo the map in that place, but I wanted to give it a good try. Since both library areas require you to go through a locked gate, my only chance was to be a THF main. I was only level 31, but other than /WHM for sneak at level 40, a higher level wouldn't help me. Yeah. In addition to all the above mentioned crap, they also have two stegos in front of each library entrance. In a hallway. Just try sneaking by those. I've already got eaten once. But I'm going to try it a few more times, just because I still have some Living Keys left.

This has been happening a lot more on our server too. One ls claimed a Faf, and their tank started red-dotting, so one of the PLDs from another ls Shield Bashed it. So the original claimers tried to flail, lol. I would have too. They stole the NM, but the original ls still had hate so was still getting wing spammed. MPK on both ends.

It's mostly because this new ls popped up, basically two linkshells split, and the leader of the new one has no scruples.

Wow. >< Sea torque rates are bullshit, but I've never had a problem with JoL drops. Figured it was higher % since it's such a pain in the ass to get to.
