PLEASE FIX IT>>>
ok so today im lvling my mules job out of pure bordem when things happened to me im not used to. 1. while pulling over a normal distance i notice my mobs constantly depoping a billion times. it seems like the only way to prevent it is to get hit a few times along the way, but then again that ruins the whole point of the /nin effect doesnt it?

the second thing i noticed is the flaws all over this new eminity at low end and at end game. at end game you will have players sleeping 5-6 mobs while there pt is fighting another mob. an no matter what you do, its impossible to claim it an pull it to your camp. but then if you claim ti an it still goes after the other pt your labeled a mpker. then at low ends i have acutally died because another players goblin actually attacked me instead of him as we pulled to our respective camps. i had a mandy an he had the gob. next thing i know the gob is beating on me, how did gob aggro transfer over?

i dont know, its not about this job or that job. this is very crummy game mechanics if you ask me. id just like ti fixed.

Nin75, Bst75. Drk61, War61, Rdm40, All other jobs are 37. All 3 starting city missions completed. All Zilart missions completed. All CoP missions completed. TouA completed.

Re: PLEASE FIX IT>>>
1. It's been like that for a while... and if hate didn't diminish over time then things would be bad and painful.

2. I don't get what you mean by the 5-6 sleeping mob thing. But, the goblin could have aggroed you initially and the other PC didn't create enough hate to claim it.

Re: PLEASE FIX IT>>>
This isn't due to hate diminishing, it's due to anti-train features from a long time ago.

(1) Not possible to claim someone else's monster unless they release it by attacking something else. If they do, they are fair game - you want to hold claim? Stop attacking the old target. And yes, this means you can accidentally MPK people if you try claiming with a damage over time spell since people typically claim with Sleep effects in merit parties.

(2) If the goblin was purple it won't attack you. If it was yellow because it was a random aggro (or it was just someone who wandered into it's aggro range to pull it), if they're really fast (THF with Flee for instance) they could have dropped aggro by Fleeing out of pursuit range.. doesn't always work with Goblins since they track by scent if I recall, but can happen during Rain or Squall weather. I'm surprised it didn't depop, but if it was still within reasonable range of its spawn point it might not have.

Re: PLEASE FIX IT>>>
The first problem is the new anti MPK feature. Some mobs will stop chasing you after a certain while unless they aggroed you, you dmged them, or they dmged you. As a puller myself this thing sucks cause if I have to make a long long pull, I used to be able to do it without the mob ever being in *range* to hit me. Now I gotta stop and make sure it's right on my ass to keep the claim and pull. -.-

The second is the new 'claim' system. People can now claim a mob with sleep, hit it with voke, efeebes, whatever, and then turn to ANOTHER mob and kill that. When someone goes to try and claim the first sleeping/debuffed mob, they won't be able to as the original PT still has more hate. The Mob will stay yellow unless you build more hate then the other player did or the other player turns to kill the mob.

It sucks.

And the third was cause by aggro or a link, but the puller from the other pt didn't get enough hate to draw it's attention away from you. That being said, the gob WILL attack you while someone else is *trying* to claim it. I've seen it more times then I would like to have seen where some newb is at half HP being chased by a mob and no matter what I do to said mob I can't pull it off them. They'll eventually zone or die, despite my attempts to help, and THEN the mob will go after me. Meaning that trying to help others like that is not only useless now, it's also pointlessly dangerous.

And goblins do not track by scent, they are sight only. Assuming you didn't hit it and it didn't hit you, if you run far enough away and invis before they see you they will stop chasing. But you have to be REAL far away.

All in all this new claim system sucks. It sucks and fails horribly. The intention was good, and I'm sure on big NMs and things that take hours to kill it works beautifully, but for the other 90% of the game it is a horrible horrible, frustratingly BAD system.

....did I mention I didn't like the new claim system?

I'd be happy if they fixed trains. No more danger just takes the fun away...I like big trains..

Sure, MPK sucked, but I miss my old "this one time, someone trained an amenome and ALL the goblins from the outpost to kazham LOL!" stories.

Re: PLEASE FIX IT>>>
Ya I've been lvling some low lvl jobs recently and gone are the days of trains at the zone in the jungle. Or going out into the other jungle, having someone zone a gob and then have to scatter to the other side so you're not in its path when it comes back. I seriously think that some of this taught survival skills to the new players and now its gone. I'm not talking about the a-hole people that would do it for fun to kill others but for the innocent people that get aggro or take too much on and have to zone.

Re: PLEASE FIX IT>>>
I still don't quite understand how hate and claiming works. A few times when I've been fighting a mob in a party or solo, it's just run off and attacked high level players who were running past. They were mostly aggro mobs but the high levels should have beeen high level to not get aggro and in one case got linked, which then got killed in one hit each. None of them were power leveling us either.

Re: PLEASE FIX IT>>>
I'm fine with no trains. I don't feel like having my entire evening of exp spoiled becuase someone feels like being a jerk, or becuase I'm surrounded by idiots. Sure, it's not too bad if you find alternate camps, but sometimes that's not an option, depending on the time or the people that you're grouped with.

And I've never liked training just for fun. I think it's inconsiderate of other people in the zone, and I wish that there was a way to stop it altogether.

Re: PLEASE FIX IT>>>
Here's one from the BST's end of things. The new mob claim system. If you and another person rush the same mob, and you sick your pet at the mob, you may not get claim. I did this just as someone got a shot off on the mob. Mob remained Yellow, and started beating on my pet for a few hits, then ran off after the puller.

I say screw it... Then the mob wheels back around seconds before I attack another mob and begins wailing on my pet again.

Then there's the reverse. Being one of the "white hat" BSTs (IE the BST that saves a PT's ass as opposed to standing by to watch them die horribly so I get more mobs), I can no longer save people. A party got agg'd by a Giant, so playing the hero as always I sick my pet on it.

Firstly, the pet can't draw enough hate off of the WHM that was agg'd due to the WHM keeping their PT alive. Second, the moment I did gather enough hate to draw it, my pet died and instead of chasing me, it turned around and smacked the living daylights out of the WHM.

So... A warning to would-be do-gooders: Claim hard and fast or risk being labelled a PKer.

You can not tell me a Whm being slapped around by a Gigas isn't funny. Your Whm, their Whm, my Whm, I can't help but find it incredibly funny. If they're being slapped around by anything else, it just isn't as funny.

Oh, and the "Over the Shoulder Converter Killer" Bomb Toss.

And on topic, I find it just fine because I don't pull and I'm not a Bst. Around my level there's usually enough common courteousy when it comes to pulling we rarely have problems.
