Re: The confusion of the area: Altepa

Is it so damn hard to understand that I don't like anything being leaked in? And yet you post images from the mission. Jesus, it's not that hard to understand. Please get rid of that.

WTH?

You took the time to read this thread and you set yourself up for spoilers. Those screens only answered the questions posed here and nothing more. Noticed I said excerpts. If I had to post my entire 50+ screenshot from those two missions, then that really be ruining it for someone.

Pose a question and expect answers. If you don't want answers, why pose questions in the first place?

Did you actually read the thread? In case you haven't noticed, I made this thread and I've been posting most of its information. I said about a good 5 or 6 times, POSTING SPOILERS IS GAY, DON'T DO IT(just like the website and its topic on the top of this forum). There were no spoilers in this thread until you posted those images. Please remove those pictures.

The fate of Werei and details about the civilization not supposed to be known in beginning are spoilers. Even if its little.

Well, if you must know then, posting ANYTHING about Altepa is spoiler. Why? Because in Bastok Mission 8-2 ...

Spoiler Ahead

So, that being the case, any history to do with Altepa and Anticans would be considered spoilers. Nevermind we can't even discuss the history of Galkans, because there's no way of knowing unless you go through Bastok Missions. Nothing in this game outside of Bastok Missions will tell you much more (The quests you find in Bastok serves to only enhance and provide some background, but nothing more)

Oh yah ... I removed those pics.

Re: The confusion of the area: Altepa

Not everything about Altepa is a spoiler... this is the description of Galkas given by playonline for their introduction:

"The Galka are a hulking race of powerful warriors. The Galka's capital city, located in the Altepa desert of Zepwell Island in the southwest corner of the Quon continent, fell to an attack from giant ant creatures six hundred years ago. The surviving Galka spread throughout Vana'diel, and a large number of them eventually settled in Bastok. The sheer strength of their powerful physiques is second to none. They have used their skills to contribute to the construction and development of the numerous mines in Bastok. However, it seems that some Galka have less than fond feelings for members of the Hume race."

Since I'm not high enough in level yet to experience the content in Kuzotz area I went to playonline.com and have been reading through the background lore material. SE seems to describe the ruins within Quicksand Caves as being built inside there by the Galkas, and not a city that was once abandoned then sunk into the sands.

The Kuzotz Region: The Quicksand Caves
Once a thriving metropolis for the proud Galka, these caves still house numerous monolithic pillars and statues that, in many places, remain untouched by the sands of time.

However, long ago, the Antica drove the Galka from their homes, and the tunnels were transformed into a giant nest. As a result of the constant digging of entrances and exits by the insect-like beings, the caves are relentlessly bombarded with a flow of sand from the desert above. It will not be long before the caves are completely filled and a piece of Galkan history is lost forever. However, this is of no concern to the Antica...

Re: The confusion of the area: Altepa

It's likely that they live in the similiar way the Ancients did, where their cities were actually one single building, but a lot of Quicksands weren't built by Galka and are clearly work on the Antica. Their ruins are filling up sand, which is the same as being buired with sand.
