Re: CoP newb what are animas?

Each anima causes an effect on any empty type mob for a certain amount of time, around 20 seconds. Each has a different effect. The effects are to cause the mob to run around, to not attack, and to not use special abilities.

To quote Wingchild's guide:

Quote:
6. Animas

? Animas are items that you throw at the BCNM during the Final Fight in a Promyvion.

? There are a series of steps you must follow to obtain an "Anima". Animas are created from "Drops" in a Promyvion. Any creature located in one may "Drop" the specific item. These items are named as follows:
Recollection of Pain
Recollection of Guilt
Recollection of Fear
When you obtain one of these Rare/Ex items, you may bring it to Ru'Lude Gardens and trade it to the Scientist in the North most building. His name is "Harith". You will also have to give him 2k. The "Anima" will be done immediatly.

? Depending on which "Recollection" you traded, you will get a specific Anima.

Recollection of Pain = Hysteroanima - NM will be unable to use special attacks for 20-30 seconds

Recollection of Guilt = TerroAnima - NM runs around for 20-30 seconds and does little to attack.

Recollection of Fear = PsychoAnima - NM will not use basic attacks very well for 20-30 seconds

? The effects of each "Anima" are as follows when thrown at the BCNM.

Re: CoP newb what are animas?

various kinds of recollections are dropped from empties in the prommies. You can trade them to NPC in Rulude garden with some money and he'll make them into a new items, including Anima.

http://ffxi.somepage.com/questdb/323

As you see, there are Hysteroanima, Psychoanima and Terroanima in the reward. Basicly, you trade these items and 2000 gil to get the reward.

Recollection of Fear >> Psychoanima
Recollection of Pain >> Hysteroanima
Recollection of Guilt >> Terroanima

Now im not sure about the names because I play japanese version so... don't mind me if i explain wrong
Hystero probaly will stop anima type mob from using magic/skill. Psycho stops mob from doing anything at all and Terro will cause the mob to run around in fear.

If all 6 members each has 3 and plan out the use order you can really win boss battle with ease.
