What SE needs to do is "replace" all of the equipment currently in the game with ToA through a good old thing called mudflation. And with this equipment, make them earned via quests, trigger pops, and BCNMs. Make the quests challenging and rewarding. Also have recipes of course, but make the materials available through the BCNMs and not some easily monopolizable NM.

remora is still a kerfucked server. sh is still 10+ yea its 'down' but still retarded to say the least. silver bullets are 40k. items like kote went UP recently...

They tried that with VE, peakcock, lizzy, archer

Things got worse not better. Everyone went for peacock, and left VE and archer to double in price.

There's a reason why camping is more efficent, because the best person wins, and you get a winner every pop.

In BCNM, the persion/group pays for a chance to win.

Some people are better/more reselient campers then others, they make it their income. Other people are better crafters, and still others are better farmers.

A market economy never really does play fair, it's just efficent. If you're not a good camper, you buy it with gil like the rest of us.

...Peacock charm was a chance drop from an easily monopolizable NM there wasn't a "winner" every time. It could be argued that more Peacock Charms drop per period of time now with them coming from the BCNM than before when it was on Argus. And besides, as I pointed out, it would be a combination solution to the problem, BCNMs aren't the end all be all. And even with BCNMs why not make a large quest chain which culminates in you having to beat a really hard BCNM to get a nice piece of gear? You still utilize the BCNM, you still have the skill, but you take away the chance.

But regardless, with ToA SoE needs to do something drastic, constantly banning the gil sellers isn't going to solve the problem, it's a bandaid applied to a gaping wound. What they need to do is get at the core and adjust how items are obtained (in other words, do away with much of the current NM system with regards to lottery/timed pops that are easily monopolized). Then put items in the game that people will actually make people want to go out of their way to earn them, and not just get lucky with some NM.

Peacock is a 5% drop off BC, so I guess it depends on how many people on your server are doing the peacock BC; On Ragnarok it's a lot. I don't really like the BC because unless you get peacock, the rest of the drops are crap, although Utsusemi and Erase can drop, but they seem to be rare as well. I can understand why people would want to do that BC since there really aren't that many good BC you can do with beastmen seals.

If SE wanted to lower prices they would stop making every NM 24 hour pop like most of the NMs in cop areas, and make the drop rate for stuff that is high ticketed items a lot better. I'm not really sure what exactly they are trying to do. Maybe they don't care about the economy, and just want to take it away from people that they suspect to sell gil and monopolize it?

I'm glad the prices are dropping alot. Although I do wish I had done my BC99 2 weeks ago and made about 10mil more than I did but meh. At least SH dropped 10mil, Haub dropped 8mil, etc, etc :3v

Some people have made very good points here. I sometimes think that camping an NM is a wate of time becuaes you need to get lucky to get claim and to get a drop. A good solutions, and like some of you have mentioned is to make BCNM fights where the drop rate is much much better, that way there wont be monopolization of items. What is hurting the economy so bad are those items that can only be obtained by monopolizing nm that drop. In Kujata, I remember that every single time we went to camp simurgh, there were these 2 CGF doing the rolanbery thingy over and over and over. I bet they are still doing it!

well crafting materials are dropping in price as well, with exception of some of the alchemy/woodworking consumables. gold ores down to 40k. gold beastcoins start out at 30k for singles. bone chips have dropped around the 7k range in windy. bast parchment is down to 15k a stack. silk thread is starting at 80k a stack after being as high as 150k a stack.

the only consumables i have yet to see a major drop are those elm/maghonany/ebony/rosewood/petrified logs, animal glue, beehive chips, and beeswax. cooking consumables have been unaffected, and maple sugar only spikes in price when sandy is 3rd in conquest and nobody has control of faruengandi region

Read bits and pieces and part of what Kuu and the other are saying of this effect being "emotional" and as logical as that sounds. I kind of doubt it being that, part of the reason why is that the prices were dropping well before they made the announcement of what they did.

Items I was using as a profit base use to be at 400k+ a week before that was released price on my items had mysteriously dropped to 200k and is now going lower. My belief in what happen has been what I've stated from start with the problem of gilsellers have large quantity of gil in game.

The problem is they don't keep the money stale, they monopalize the AH of an item and then push the price. Any player with at least 100 mil gil could do this as well, in effect making the AH not only a money machine for them but in effect the gilbuyers are giving that money right back to the gilsellers likely 80% of the time.

Now with the gilsellers monoply of those items in the AH gone, along with a good quantity of the gilsellers money for RMT there is fewer people that can come up with the money to buy the items that were priced at rediculous prices. Like anyone knows there's a hefty tax on putting items up in the Jeuno AH a 40 mil item is going to run you like what 400k-2mil that's a huge loss when the item doesn't sell.

So of course when the legit players go to resell they will more likely try it at a lower price in hope of it selling faster. The part of it I can agree with being emotional is the grossly priced items when that news came out they started to compete with eachother because those outrageously priced items will likely be trying to find the actual market share without the gilsellers influence.

Maybe yes...maybe no. The problem with that is the signs are all wrong. There is no, fluctuating signs that show the results of that. (up and down) Anything like that you would see up and down, not just down.

A rapid drop can only be done in a mass selling or perhaps GMs could be a legit possbility.

For prices droping before the the anouncement, lots of theories, floating around, but the most obvious was the "steal" trick. It caused rapid inflation, due to "get rich quick", but once SE plugged up the hole, it started a slow deflation (it's unsustained)

But all this is gradual and slow, what we expect from a maketplace.

A deep cut in a matter of hours...no banning of mules /or stopping of price setting can do that except in people itself.

It's much like the woodsman ring update. In one day the price of snipers drops almost half, but then slowly increased again. People in "sky is falling down mentality" was clearly issue there...Till they found out you don't find woodsman ring shitted out of a moogle.

Well, you're looking only at a few items then. I've seen some items go up 200-300% in cost in this past week while others have dropped more than 50% ... does this fit into your "fluctuating signs?"

I'm in the same camp with Macht on this one and with Manatra on solutions to the problem. Kuu basically argued that making changes in the items worth or value (from normal to ex or rare/ex) made the economy worse. Yes, it did, but here's why ...

It's because they didn't make the change across the board on all NMs (They can and should exclude HNMs from this) There's another thread on this issue and a solution that was brought up by another player (I then took up that flag and am also pushing support for it) Basically, changing the dynamics and leaving "money" out of the picture can and should make things better for everyone.

Money is the root of all evil. I believe that was used in a poetic sense but can also translate into a more literal one ...
