well some parts of MC are easy (now at least, after all the strategies have been figured out), but it tends to be only the good guilds with the more "hardcore" players (lol WoW's community has been split into the "hardcore" and "casual" -__-) can actually kill or reach Ragnaros consistently w/o wiping.

it is true though that equipment doesn't play an extremely heavy role in the game to do well (but that also prevents their economy from getting all screwy x])

i prefer FFXI over WoW because the whole experience is more challenging overall... considering the how easy it is to get to 60 in WoW. plus, WoW's community is a bit more immature in general? dunno, ffxi has its share of assholes but it just attracts me more x].

so then, i went and found a level 7 mob and killed it too. on my way out of the level 7 area, i got aggro'd by 2 level 7 mobs, and together they killed me.

playing in wow felt like walking through west ronfaure at level 20 on my way home from dunes. i felt too powerful. it took a lot of the fun out of it when i knew could pick a fight with any mob my level and KNOW there was no way i could die unless i got a link or something. i might have given the game more of a chance if i had thought that would change as you get higher up in level.

in ffxi there's more drama, you have to keep on your toes. even normal xp mobs can kill you if you don't play it right.

I'm playing WoW right now, and god damn, there isn't one good looking person. Its amazing. There isn't even ONE ugly face in Vana'diel, everyone is just plain sexy(even the Galka and the Elvaan).

No... EVERYONE is ugly. The only people who look slightly playable at the the Human females, but they look nothing as good as Mithra or any Vana'diel race for that matter.

i agree completely.

when i was playing wow, i heard some of the players talking using the shouts. one said he had a lvl 75 monk in ffxi, and that he would never play ffxi again because (i quote) "wow is better"

when he said that, i thought "how odd... and here i am, thinking ffxi is better..."

i still say ffxi is the better game, it just takes more work to play.

I'd like to see what people say about WoW in 1 year. All you can do is PvP, Duel, Craft(and barely interesting), and Instance. Guild Wars imo is a lot better, aside from the fact you don't craft(NPCs do it for you) and there is small difference between armor(however you can dye and mix dyes). At least in Guild Wars there are world championships and stuff going on. And its free.

Guild Wars + FFXI, you don't need another MMORPG.

I've heard from quite a few people that Guild Wars is quite good, I find it (note: never played it.) as an RPG version of Planet Side that can end up getting close to dying once a few more MMOs come out.

I liked DAoC. I enjoyed RvR a lot. Back when there were many many players it was really fun. But meh, the game was old and over time lost too many players and isn't as fun anymore.

i tried the night elf. it was ok... but i still got tired of looking at it after awhile.

one thing that makes it easy to play ffxi for 1 billion hours at a time is that the characters are so cool to look at

don't try /emote with night elfs. For some reason blizzard decided to give the mysterious magical race of elf the most pervert emotions imaginable.

My hunter was a female night elfs. the way she cheers, claps, dance, etc, were all disgusting. Some said those were good humors from blizz, I see it as a bad taste and low.

It is blizz's way of being racist, they made male nightleves crackwhores who dance like micheal jackson and the women act like prostutes.

Isn't that true for nearly every MMORPG out there, including FFXI? On a purely objective level, I'd say WoW has 0.5 more things to than FFXI - PvP. Battlegrounds > Ballista any day of the week.

FFXI has one thing WoW doesn't - mission/storyline, but that's a one-time deal that you finish and probably won't repeat.

As for my earlier CoP comment and the responses it provoke, I still stand by it. Of course a forum like this will be full of people who love it. As I've said before, forums tend to be populated by a generally higher quality level of players than the general playerbase of the game.

WoW's character models do look ugly, not to mention very low poly. FFXI's endgame armor sets blow away WoW's (with maybe a tiny handful of exceptions).

My biggest problem with WoW's character models is that almost every male model is hunchbacked. The human male looks like a neanderthal on steroids. The NE male looks passably normal (as normal as an elf can be anyways), but is still a little too much steroid use.
