Real Vana'diel closing their door in December...

after 2 yrs of serving FFXI community, Real Vana'diel, the FFXI cyber cafe in Japan, is closing their door as of Dec 18, according to their website.

sad news for ppl who were planning to visit there someday soon, and for those of u in Japan, now is the last chance to explore the great FFXI entertainment facility.

they r waiving the 1,000 yen membership fee from Nov 28, and will only charge the regular hourly rate. also, no special event of any kind is planned at this time.

Ack, I hope they open an online store to sell all their merchandise though.

Good job I already went there - still have my Leviathan member's card even. It was fun, but as far as internet/gaming cafes go it was bloody expensive.

P.S. - Do they REALLY sell all this Vana 'diel cool stufff and t-shirts and FFXl cuddly toys there e.t.c? Cause I'd really like to see a site where you can buy these types of things, espceially from FFXl. I'd really like to buy a cuddly toy of those NPC plant creatures you see around Sarutabaruta. (I'm sorry about the description. I can't remember their name away from the game. I don't get to play every single day, and so I can tend to forget things from it every now and again. *sigh*)

Even though it's in Japan, they have both the NA and JP clients installed on their computers so you can play with either version. They had all the crap on sale there at the front counter, and if you're camping an NM or whatever and have time to kill you can flick through a FFXI manga (most of which are crap, btw) whilst biding away. All the waitresses who work there wear either Mithra or Hume♀ RSE, complete with a fake tail and ears for the Mithras. The prices for going there are on the rather exorbitant side - I went twice, and the second time I was there for a couple of hours and ended up having to pay about 2000 yen (about US$20), which is ridiculous. Still, it was a lot of fun. The girls refused me when I asked if I could take their picture though, dammit.

Well, since I don't live anywhere near Japan, and there's like ZILCHO chance of me EVER visting that country anyway, I just hope that sometime in the near future, a new site can be opened to buy some nice FFXl gifts.
I went crazy in a gift shop recently went I visted my local zoo.
And because I'm british, I ended up spending around £50 in there.
WHEW! Pretty expensive hey?

Well, it WAS....... my birthday, so who can argue with that? Heh heh.

I can't wait to spend my dough on anything FFXl related if they DID open a new site.
I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens then. *sigh*
